Aerogarden Update

Well it has been 9 days since my last update, I'm at the end of week 5 and I'd like to go over some things with everyone.

Hmmm well lets see

I think some stretching is going on.... a few days ago I finally raised and suspended my lighting hood with some velcro and string lol. Thats why I'm a MacGuyver smoker. Anyways I initially raised it too high by probobly like 6 inches and didnt change it closer pretty much because of laziness and the setup is kinda a pain in the ass. so yea stretching...

Yesterday I removed some of the leaves on the lower levels of the plants. Most of the leaves were looking kinda bad and not really getting any light.

Was this a good Idea or bad idea?

Another thing is today I noticed what appeard to be mold growing on the lower base of the stems on two of my little sprouts. It looked white and web like. like cotton not too much not too thick.

I took the 2 plants out and another little guy that wasnt doing good and threw them away

I'm now left with 1 little plant that will most likely will die soon it's kinda there just as an experiment. lol.

I dont think there is mold anywhere else tho, I think its ok now.

Well I'm 5 days into flowering so far I havent noticed much change.
Havent noticed much change in the last 9 days either. Maybe just some verticle growth.

I wonder if I have just about maxed out the size of the plant in comparison to the water resevoir, maybe I'm just looking at the plants too much.

How long till I start to see signs of flowering do you think?

Nothing much else has happened that I can think of....

Here are some pics....

It sounds to me like you are just starting the stretch. The plant will grow rapidly before starting to flower. Once you start seeing white hairs, the growth will slow, and buds will form.

I don't see much sign of stretching, and removing lower leaves that the plant is obviously finished with is fine.

The worst part is the mold. You think you removed it, let me tell you, you didn't.

You need to remove the spores that are there, and fix the source of the spores. Increased air circulation will help. Check the humidity levels, especially when dark.

Keep a close eye on your remaining plant. At first sign of mold, spray entire plant with neem oil and a little baking soda and a drop of dish soap.
This is best done during the first half of flowering, and not after. So growers that have mold problems spray a couple times in early flowering just as a precaution.

I can't see the tops of your pots clearly in your photos, but you might try covering the tops of the pots a with white or other reflective material to keep the light from hitting the medium. Mold needs light to grow.

Thanks for the update.... I still stand by my suggestion.. : )

lop off about 4-6 inches.. make a KILLER CLONE with that main TOP..
and then flower...

keep the updates coming.

yes the mold is serious... you need to change the climate.. dryer is better...

keep us posted..

Thanks for the update!

I wonder how much bushier, stronger the plants might be if a 400 Watt HPS was hanging over them.

Did you figure out if the machine would still work if the hood and lights were removed?

Best!

you should have removed the TOP... thus giving the lower foliage more light... you have NO vertical space.. therefore the lower branches are your friends..

i find it remarkable how healthy and green the plant is.. the nutrients they have provided are working nicely!!

cheers..

Hey guys thanks for the advice and love. Love you all too, truely.

Gangsta, I havent found out if it would still work if the lighting is removed, due to I don't really wanna disturb the plants too much. But That def would be a cool idea to get a 400w hps in there, maybe somday for me.

Gardenknowm, Yea cutting the top off really scares me plus im 1 1/2 weeks into flowering. I'm going to let these beauties be. My next grow with this machine is going to be way better than this one. New ideas + New Knowledge = Great results. Thanks again for your advice.

Vandewalle, I am still excited that someone else is taking this venture with me. I'm glad I have someone now to compare notes with per se. Cant wait to see pics of your plants. Best of luck to you bro we might have started somthing big with this machine for all the little stealth ninja growers out there.

I'd like to try some lowryder or lowryder 2 in there but all the recommended sites that sell seeds don't sell lowryder. Still would love to get some crazy bomb seeds in here next time.

ok anyways gonna get some breakfast

Peace Love Weed

hey with my aerogarden i disconnected the lights and put them on a timer without splicing the wires, it works fine and the system still runs, it would be easy as hell to connect a hps bulb or anything you want...so you are flowering now tek? can you get some pics up when they start doing something, cause i really wanna know how much this is gonna yeild with 4 plants

Ok heres the weekly update....

I changed my resivoir for the first time in 7 weeks last night... It was a little bit a pain in the ass but not really too bad at all....

GAve it some fresh nutes and calibrated the ph to around the right area...

Its been 2 weeks into flowering and the center plant is def a female and is startin to show hairs almost halfway down the plant....

Everything is going well

The center plant is getting huge, the other 2 plants behind it arent getting much light. I would just pull them out but I'm scred the roots are all tangled.... Maybe I could just saw it down... I'll probobly just leave them...
