You shouldn't be so negative Al B. Different strokes for different folks, some people actually PREFER to try the aerogarden then maybe step up to something bigger. Anyways, he was asking about aerogardens "specifically" so therefore wouldn't you expect aerogarden to show up in the search results. :bigjoint:

Unfortunately, they all seem to feature Aerogardens...

There's cheaper ways to do the job and get better results to boot.

No, this isn't a judgment call, such as the choice between different brands of nutes. I'm being negative for very good, corroboratable reasons.

Aerogardens are simply too small to grow cannabis plants and flowering with CFLs is a waste of time and money. The results are always poor.

Yeah, and some people prefer to convert their lawnmower into a land speed record car.

Once you jack up an Aerogarden and put some proper grow equipment under it (especially lighting), you might get a competent grow. It's a bit like Grandpa's axe, you know, the one which is on its 4th handle and 5th head... but by gum, it's still Grandpa's axe. :D

You can duplicate the watering function of an Aerogarden (and that's all it is- a watering system) for about 10-20% of the cost of an Aerogarden... and all you need to do is read a bit to learn how. Look for mogie's posts on DIYing an aero system.

Knowledge isn't just power, it's financially sensible. Why not have something that does the same job or better for a fraction of the cost when all it takes to do it right is some research... which on balance is rather cheap?

I understand exactly what you are saying Al B. I myself couldn't bring myself to pay retail for one, I'm a big ebayer so I bought me one off ebay for $61.00 bucks. I have ALL intentions of building my own system and just using this aerogarden for vegging or at least starting the seedlings and possibly a mother plant.

I have searched the aero/hydro section for all the DIY kits and I never could find one by mogie, would you happen to have the link to that thread ??? I found alot of other threads telling how to build your own but wouldn't mind seeing others to get more ideas. So far I like the one that HighLife28 has posted, here is the link to it, what is your opinion on this set-up, I guess it would actually be a bubbleponics to get technical, anyways, what's your opinion on this for a beginner.

Yall should click on my signature, then youll see a red link to my first Super Aerogarden grow! I agree with Al B that the Aerogarden is the wrong choice for cannabis. I should have never bought it but it was my first grow and i didnt know how mj grew. I got the AG because people posted on here that they were doing it and I didnt wanna get the Stealth hydro BS in the mail, I wish i saw a bubbleponics thread like the one i posted i didnt know how easy it was and the parts to build it were available very close to me haha

Welp, here is a pic of what I have in my Aerogarden at the moment. I have 5 females (of various unkown but very high quality strains) in there which are 54 days into flowering. I have my AG in a small cabinet lined with tin-foil. It fits in there perfectly with a small fan to keep the air going.

..plants on the right are starting to fill out now...about another 3 wks for those...they must obviously be more of a sativa becaues they are taking longer.
However...the plant on the left is nearly ready to harvest..1 more week or so..look at those NUGZ!! i'm sooo excited, lol :hump: I'm frankly quite amazed at how well they are doing with how little light the Aerogarden has.

Hey i just bought a aerogarden system i just wanted to know how did your plant grew so beautiful does this machine actually work

I got 56 grams out of my first aerogarden plant. The nug is ridiculously dank. Its pot of gold strain and I can tell you right now I dont regret using the free aerogarden I came up on to grow this fantastic herb using CFL.
CFL will work fine if you know how to use it.

not to mention it was my first grow and there were alot of accidents that happened like several nute burns and stunted growth. and a short veg cycle. ... and only 1 main cola. Pretty much the plant could have easily gotten to a much bigger size if I had spent the extra time.

I would recommend aerogardens for a first hydroponic grow... its good for learning. but now that I've learned I'm making a rubbermaid aeroponic system that is going to blow the socks off of the aerogarden.
