Im using a aero flow 20 site setup, and had a question about the overflow tubes. Right now i have my tubes up high flooding it with 16 gallons right now. Just wondering when i should lower it to let the roots grow in the air and how low?

what's your misting schedule? if you have hanging roots, you don't need standing water in the rails, and runoff acts as a nft...

do you have hanging roots? i'm assuming 20/4 veg? you can probably get by with no standing water, and just the mist. i thing the 4 hour off is a good idea, as the water will get warmer as the pump runs, and will need to cool off. do you have a res chiller?

If you're cloning in the aeroflo2, I've had the best success with the water level touching the bottoms of the net pots. Once you see several roots coming out of each cup, you can drop the level down. I like to keep about 1/2" - 3/4" of water in the tube to act as a buffer if there is a disruption in spraying(power outage...). Your pump should either run 24/7 or on a timer, 1 min on/ 5 min off is generally regarded as ideal. Once you go to flowering, you will not be able to leave the pump off for 12 hours, you will need to mist between.

yeah i have thick hanging roots about 7 inches long. I do not have a res chiller. Those pumps really warm up the water that much? O and good point about not being able to leave system off for 12 hrs, didnt even think about that one.
