Ok so after nearly a year off i decided to start my second grow with seeds from Barney's (LSD and Pineapple chunk) and Dutch passion (Euforia) which i purchased singularly.

Set up as follows:
150w Ruck extraction
125 TT inlet
XL budbox
Biobizz all mix soil
Biobizz grow , bloom, algamic and Vitalink Biopac

Vegging under 200w Plug and Grow CFL, changing to a SON-T 600w HPS for flowering.

Planted seeds 5 days ago this is how they are doing so far, just given them a small amount of biopac to the waterings.

PIC_1113.JPGPIC_1111.JPGPIC_1112.JPG

2x Pineapple chunk to the front, LSD right back and the runt so far euforia Back left.

Aiming to get a working oscillating fan in the mix soon too :D

Any comments welcome and advice on using lime and or added potash to the mix for final pots will be welcomed :D

Ok so these seedlings are 9-10 days old and i've noticed some bizarre yellowing towards the centre of some of the leaves ( not the bottom ones though) its kind of patchy like the chlorophyll hasnt properly developed. All i've added to the water is the biopac which is basically bacteria to help the roots absorb nutrients from the soil. I havent added any nutrients via waterings as afaik its to early to introduce them at this stage as the soil should hold the right amount? They are grown in biobizz soil and the pH of the water given to them reads 6.8-6.9 so im confused to why this weird yellowing is occuring anyone had experience of this or can tell me what it is. The roots are just starting to touch the drain holes in bottom so could this be it, or something else? Please help :D Any comments welcomed

Some seedlings can be quite picky, but my only thing that I saw that would possibly explain (since you seem to have done everything to the book) is that the medium looks very wet! Too wet a medium often has the effect of suffocating the roots. Possibly give em a few days to dry up and then give them a light watering. I wouldn't add anything at the moment. Over the next day or so keep an eye on the new leaves that are forming. Hopefully they are remaining green. How hot does the tray get they are sitting in? It looks metal of some sort.
Yellowing veins can be from various issues like Manganese for example (but with micronutrients added I would be surprised), but I think it's a bit early to start throwing stuff at em. I will check in over the weekend to see how it is going.

Good luck with it Agent!

Well i've repotted em into bigger 6" pots from the 10 cm ones they were in with fresh compost, ill wait a few days and reassess.

Ok so put em in bigger pots, The first pic ( Euforia) is still a bit slow of the mark but a healthy green, then the LSD which is also quite healthy, then come the faster growing Pineapple Chunk, both with a patchy yellowing between the veins, one noticibly more than the other as you can see. I'll have to see how this progresses as dont want to do anything rash atm. I did put my problem in the newbie part of the forum for advice but wasnt convinced enough to act on some suggestions... Yet. So many factors may be to blame - the strain, the rate that strain grows, the fact the roots had got to the bottom of the 10cm pot within 9 days, the metal tray i temporarily had them in, or even the fact that the Pineapple chunk was closest to the firing line of the chill off the inlet fan- who knows but heres the pics. Comments welcomed:D

Ok so when i started i tried to germ 2 x LSD, 2 x PC, 1 x Euforia and a left over seed from Nirvanas WW ( which i've had stored for about 5 years total now lol and used for my last grow too) When the WW and other LSD failed to sprout after 4 days i chucked em into the garden amongst the bedding plants slightly miffed they hadnt sprouted  Anyway just passing this afternoon , guess what i find lol 2 tiny seedlings YAY! so i guess failed seeds are worth hanging on to for another week hehe! They are massively behind the others by about 10 days. I think the taller more developed one is the WW and the smaller one the remaining LSD so after all it was a 100% germ rate in the end lol! will have to keep an eye on the WW especially as its not from a feminized batch like the others, if it turns out male ah well, but i do fancy trying my hand at genetic crossing if anyone could give advice nearer the time if it turns out male :D But, YAY now i got 6 plants instead of 4 even if it might cock up my flowering times lol.:blsmoke::mrgreen::peace:

PIC_1136.JPGPIC_1135.JPG

P.s unless i've clumsily repotted wrongly, i got it wrong about the yellowing seedling, it is in fact the LSD and not the pineapple chunk as i first thought so hmm.

So plants are now just over 2 weeks old.( apart from the slow ass seedlings that didnt germ at the time they should have).

Lowered the pH of the water to 6.2-6.4 using cider apple vinegar and started to add half strength nutes, they are starting to bush out a bit now and seem to be liking the nutes, even the poorly plant seems to have all green new growth ( pic 3). Perhaps its just a hungry "feed me seymour" plant i dunno lol , but glad its finally coming green . So you guys thnk they look ok for this stage?

Comments welcome :D

Hi, ty for your comments, yes im hoping to 'fim' them, i did it with my last grow and got 2 big colas per plant, dont think i did too bad with my last grow so hoping i've learnt a few lesons from some hiccups i had last time, although these are multiple strains and not WW like i grew last time, so may have some challenges with what each variety likes/dislikes. However, despite the hiccups i managed to get 8 oz off my 2 WW plants last time , so if i get the same luck with this im in for an almighty chilled xmas. Hoping to switch em after about 4 weeks i think depending on growth and will encorporate some LST too. LAst time i tried LST i feel i was slightly too late as i had alot of height before i thought about it and they did get a bit out of hand lol. They might again as im gonna have to put my trust in someone to look after em while im away for a week in october lol :P Feel free to have a look at my first grow if ya like > links in the sig :D

Happy Days

Ok thought it was time for an update, apart from the slow start seedlings most of the plants are growing great guns, apart from one - the Euforia. Its growing but not in same sense as the others, its very squat and new growth is overlapping at very short internodes, kinda weird as they all same distance from the light, although it is the darkest green of em all lol:)

Just 'fimmed' the top of all of em, the Pineapple chunk's are doing well , one being the tallest of the bunch, (front right) the other back left, the LSD aint doin to bad being second tallest so far.( back right ) The Euforia (front left) is half the size more or less as you can see, Perhaps its just a short variety- dunno- anyone got experience with growing it, or is it just a 'late developer'?

Yeah i figured it might after seeing Horribleherk's journal, gonna start tying em down at weekend and put em in bigger pots, as for cloning, wish i had the space i only got the budbox for space atm, plus i know im gonna have issues when i change bulb for HPS , the added power from the massive 600w ballast overloaded the garage last grow and flipped the breaker meaning i had to wire it into the kitchen circuit, so until i can cure that issue dunno if i cba to have multiple leads trailing from my garage back through the window into the kitchen than already is lol, but for the future deffo :D

On a different note, they are all on 24 hr light atm, thinking of switchin to 18/6 perhaps the squat plant will grow in height a bit then lol, not to mention tone down the leccy bill lol :D

So anyone had experience with growing Euforia ( Dutch passion) and is it really supposed to stay that small? lol

Ok so now they are 3 1/2 weeks since sprout ( bar the slow ass seedlings) Decided to put the main plants into their final size pot as the roots were touching bottom quite quickly. All new growth seems to be coming up green without that strange patchy yellowing that was initially on 2 of my plants so you will see some pics of the initial problem followed by a pic of the new growth. Had them out in the sun for an hour so least its a true colour of what they are like now. Currently feeding with 1 ml Grow, 1 ml Algamic and 1 tsp of molasses ( apart from the seedlings) and gonna start tying em down tomorrow i reckon. Still dont know whats up with the Euforia as its remaining very squat and twisting slightly although remaining green??
Also decided to put em on 18/6 as oppose to 24/0 so that should be kicking in tonight :D

BTW even at this stage the PC absolutely stinks! is this typical as the lsd only as a light perfume , the euforia none even my WW from last grow didnt stink this much at a week before chop!

Any comments welcome :D

THanks

BTW do old leaves that have had a deficiency ever recover or do they remain blotchy, im thinkin it was a manganese deficiency but unsure. Bump.
