You mean get a HPS and stop pricking around with those toxic shite leds that cost far too much for hobby growers so they end up with the cheap versions that last year you were humping to fuck but now have dropped because of some new lense or way to slice up inefficient spectrum.....

I got hps a 1000 watt and a 400 watt just run way to hot for my grow space. Went to led and I've had amazing results even with a cheap chinesse led

There is no comparison between sammy strips and HID lights. I burst a laugh every time I see that shit. I agree with nmibud. DIY sammy strip builds are the best you can get today. Yeah HID lights are cheaper at start but you will be paying 150watt worth of led strips price every month of using HID. Its hilarious to me when I think someone is actually still using HID's.

I find it hilarious that people slam lights that have been the backbone of indoor growing for decades. You like your lights good for you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with HID's. I use them, have for years, and will continue to do so. I grow excellent weed with them as do many other people.
I also find it hilarious that someone on their first ever grow is now an expert and laughing at people that have been growing longer than they've probably been alive. What qualifies you as an expert on lighting or for that matter anything related to growing?

Who is telling that you can't grow excellent weed with HPS? You can grow excellent weed with enough of those old halogen lamps, does that mean its better than newest generation leds? What does the HPS has thats special enough to mask its huge electricity use? If the spectrums are the same, cri is the same whats that magical thing that is so good about it? Nothing maybe?

I’ll start off by saying I’m one of those new generation COB growers, but you are completely correct that HID is still a good way to go. The people bashing them should be saying they prefer the LED route just like you and many others prefer the HID route. They are just two different paths to reach the same destination. The same goes for those HID growers that bash the LED people, it’s just silly. They are both proven methods to grow good cannabis.
I would never bash HID simply cause I’ve never used it. I have no knowledge of how it compares to my COB LEDs. Even if I did, like you said it was the system that created the whole indoor boom. Sure people could’ve used fluorescent but we all know what has its limitations and would’ve never gotten us to where we are today and that’s all thanks to HID.
