Air cooling lights with outside air.

So I was doing some changes to my tent. And at the moment I have 1 6” in-line fan for exhaust that sucks air from my filter in the grow area through my air cooled hood to outside. I also have 1 4” in-line fan for intake bringing fresh air out from outside.

I just recently came across a 8” in-line fan and it’s about to be summer here.. what I wanted to do was have my 8” fan cooling my light only bringing in cool air from outside and exhausting back outside.(it’s own ventilation system separate from the grow tent exhaust) Then use my 6” fan which would be only connected to my filter to exhaust the grow tent. And just leave my 4” fan the way it is intaking cool air from outside.

My other option is to just replace the 6” fan with the 8” and having the 8” cool my light and exhaust my room too.

What would be my best option to cool down my room the most?

If it's not a sealed room I would only have the 1 8" fan pulling air from the grow room, through the filter, cooling the lights and exiting the grow area. If necessary, use the 4" (or 6") fan for an intake. Make sure the net suction from the 8" exhaust fan is stronger than the intake fan... otherwise you will have positive pressure in there.

the only issue u have is the RH of the air crossing the bulb ........if u are in a area where it is dry and RH is in the 60 and below u are ok but if u are in a area where u get summer showers and rh jumps at night to 95% no using outside is not a option (wet air on hot bulb means boom)

as for what u were talking about that is the correct set up
personally i would take the ducting for the exhaust and wye them in then send it all up a chimney
and set your ducting into the tent in the lowest/coolest part of your house/area for the co2 and cool air can dumb in (not the ducting for lights) that i would set at the hottest spot in the area u are in to pull it out make more negitive pressure pulling in CO2 and cool air from outside

Check out my RDWC grow thread (in my signature) to see how I've got mine set up. Isolating your hood air from the tent/room is a really good way to manage temps, especially in the summer. I hate the thought of exhausting conditioned house air outside. What a waste. It's not ideal for every situation, but if you can do it, that's what those air-cooled hoods are made for.
