Air-Pot vs standard pot grow from clones. 600w in a tent

Temps have dropped and I've got some cool air from outside coming in by the tent. Temp in the tent has dropped to 69 degrees so I'm turning the fan down a little bit to make it even quieter.


Everything looking good. I think four plants is a little to cramped for the tent. I prefer my plants spread out a little more for ease of management so next grow I'll probably do 2-3 plants in bigger pots.

What about airpots with supersoil? Do you think a 2 gal is gonna hold enough soil(food) for a full grow? I think 7 gal standard pots are usually recommended to feed a plant with s.soil full term. I'd like to try them though.

i contacted the people i ordered my air pots from, and they added to my order, so i'm getting 20 of the .3 gallon pots. my seedlings are going into soil today......or tomorrowish, and i'll have the pots on monday! i'm looking forward to putting seedlings into these. new toys to play with!

The nutrients are coming from their watering. The plant will grow to accommodate the size of the plant so a bigger pot with more soil just gets you a bigger plant.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how much I'm going to use the smaller pots. The plants that I started out in the bigger pots are doing very well.

if i had the space, i might start in their final pot. repotting was always about root mass, and if indeed these things work as advertised, i see no need for the small ones!

as is, they are the perfect size for my veg area. i have containers that hold 15 party cups each and these will allow me to continue this but with better root mass. i just planted a bunch of seeds. i'm looking to flower 16 or so. i'll have to figure out which ones i want to put in the new pots! decisions, decisions!

2.5 weeks into flower and still not seeing much stretch. Hashberry/Lockdown has always been slow to start so I'm expecting to see some stretching over the next week.

Looking very good, I just read through the whole thread! So have you seen much of a difference yet? I was thinking of ordering some 2 gal AP's, I've seen them around but this is the first time I've done any research on them

I'm seeing a little difference that's slightly in favor of Air-Pots but not a huge amount. I expect the difference to get greater the further into the grow I am.

Did a Sledgehammer flush of about 3/4 gallon of water through each plant.

Those are some bushy girls right there. Which ones are in the air pots?

interested to see the turn out, ive never quite seen a straight up side by side comparison.

I just stuck my lady in a 45L air pot just over a week ago, 2-3 weeks into flower. She was seriously root bound in her bucket, hoping she can continue to grow completely unrestricted in her new pot!

The two in the back are the Air-Pots. I rotate the plants clock-wise so their position changes.

Good goin' op. I would love to see a comparison amongst the alternative root/air pots: Air Pot, Root Warrior, Root Builder, Smart Pot,etc.

It's what Fox Farms recommends to prevent nutrient lock.

It's not a standard flush of straight water. I'm using their SledgeHammer supplement which I believe is a wetting agent plus the normal dose of Big Bloom. The idea is to flush out excess salts which can prevent nutrients from getting to the plant. Fox Farms recommends doing it every three weeks. I first started using their SledgeHammer on my last grow and liked the results.
