Air pumped into soil pot

Anyone ever tried putting an airstone in a soil pot? not sure if it would do anything but i know in hydro roots wrap all around the airstone. Just thinking about it and wondering if it would help at all, couldn't hurt could it? I could see it drying out the soil a bit quicker.....

should get enough air from letting the roots dry out in between watering but i dunno put some straw in ur dirt if u want some loose spots

Or just go buy a smart pot....does the same thing except more efficiently for the plants sake

I have lots of space in my soil but thought that pumping air in may give them a boost. how do smart pots work, does air get pumped into the root system?
