Airstone, in soil?

It probably would make the soil dry quicker if anything, otherwise i just see the air being pushed out the holes in the bottom of the planting pot, but i do think it is a good idea.

Not as the air from the stone is not forceing air into the soil particls as it does in water. To add air to the soil mix in perlite or verm which allows air to be held between the soil for the roots to tak in and use and the verm will help hold water
I dont think an airstone has enough pressure to force the air down thru soil so If you put it half way or added a layer of thick plastic under it with only a few drain holes in it it would maybe work better as the air will naturally rise and try find the easiest way out of the soil above.

Yes it does work but loose the airstone just 1/4 line first put a layer of LANDSCAPE FELT then a layer 1-2 " lava rock (Its what I have in my yard so it is free) then a layer of LANDSCAPE CLOTH then mix your soil 50-50 with cinder rock (Fine lava) for all this work it only yields a bit more growth but really not worth the work. also you need to water often it does dry the soil. I did not have a problem with that I get 120" of rain a year, and just set it outside of my green house. Better to use co2 I ran my dryer vent hose into my green house WOW what a difference and it sure makes one want to do laundry daily lol Happy growing
