I use your standard 6 inch or 12 inch stone. They have been bubbling for 4 months without a problem.
If they did fall apart... ill go out and spend 2 bucks for a new one.

yeah just the standard normally blue... i bought some of the spendy flexible tube style but they put out such small bubbles i'm having troubles with young plants that don' t have long enough roots to hit the water yet... they don't have the "popping" effect like the standard stones do.

wall mart 12 inch air stones for my bubble tub just get the one where the stone is sent into a plastic frame, My POS stones I first got were the same way. In my 5 gal bubblebucket I found an awesome stone made my Active AQUA its a round 4" airstone that really pushes tiny bubbles.

get a micro pore airstone from underwater innovations. They have a warranty, will last for a looooong time and are the best on the market.

I also use a ceramic Micro-Bubble 6" air-stone I got for $5 on Ebay in my bubble bucket. I have a friend running a 4 gallon bucket with 5 plants in it with one of these air-stones. The huge mass of tiny bubbles really aerate the water well.
