AK 48 starting to smell foul

I purchased a AK-48 from the Nirvana place I vegged her for 2 month to get her bushy and switched her to flower. She started off amazing looking and smelling awesome. She has been in flower just under 4 weeks and there is a bad smell like garbage or crap coming from the bud sites.
Has anyone grown AK-48 and have had the same problem with the smell.

God, why do i even have to ask this. It should be default information.

What exactly do they smell like?

Makes me suspect some kind of botrytis or bud mold, but it seems too early for anything like that. This would also be visible, you'd need to check the inside of the nugs. Spread the calyxes of the top colas gently and look inside the buds, if they is a problem you will know it.

Like shit or garbage the plant is fine in its self I have not opened the buds though but I have checked the soil and P.H

The most common "bad" smell people get from flowering plants are related to moldy growing conditions....It will smell like a moldy basement, or wet clothes left in a bag for 3 months. The distinct "mold" smell.

As far as "garbage". I mean, I've had bomb ass purple strains smell like rotten bologna or dog shit, but it was a wonderful skunky smell.

I'm guessing you are smelling crap herb, in moldy conditions. Try to take a Macro shot of one of the flowers for us.

bud rot smells more like a damp / mushroom smell to me not a strong smell

i grew ak48 a few years back, i had 1 very tall sativa pheno that matured very quickly had the worst inter node space i have ever seen and very low yield
it tasted great though very sweet and pineapple like,
the 2nd pheno was a very short low yielding indica , it had a complex flavour that was also nice neither were very strong smelling when growing
no garbage smells though

Could be the indica dom pheno, I've had a few afghan ones smell like a camel's asshole.

AK is one of those strains that at least around me has been passed around so much and is so popular that I'm sure alot of fakes got into circulation. That being said AK is definitely well known to be super smelly. The only "bad" smell I've ever encountered as was previously mentioned is from mold or mildew, and that smell is distinct. Like bama said, its like if you forget to put your clothes in the dryer for a couple days, very distinct you would recognize it.

My Kali Mist from about 3 weeks flower to 7th week smelled like poo, really Earthy stinky musky scent. Went away on it's own accord and left my with S.Pellegrino Lemon flavour. Lovely.

There is a very very rare AK 47 Pheno that has a dead body / garbage / shit smell... It sounds like you got the rare one.........

AK48 is the indica-dominant version of AK47. It was bred by Nirvana and is a cross of Jock Horror and Ice. SOOOOO, it still sounds like he might have that magical dead shit smelling Pheno. There is also a super intense cherry tasting / smelling pheno in the AK line that is just as rare. Me, I would prefer the cherry pheno. From what I hear ( can't speak from expierence) the baby shit / dead smelling ak pheno really puts out a dead body smell late in flower.



AGAIN, What the hell do I know I am just a stoner....

Just over 4 weeks flowering the bottom leaves are starting to yellow and die is this normal ?

How did things turn out. Got three ghs kalashnikova ww x ak47 and she smells like a garbage bag with baby poo in it. If I touch and smell fingers its like lemon diesel.

Mine smell so f'ing bad too. They didn't smell almost at all till last week "5 weeks into bud" But now I just wanna put the f'er outside. It is a slightly sweet smell with the hint of burning hair, pinesol, and tartar sauce. It's horrible.

My AK48's just passed 9 weeks today...one smells like Pinesol, the other one Gojo (you know, the hand cleaner). Ain't nothin' horrible about either of those smells!
