Hello all, this journal will be documenting my 2nd hydro grow in this setup... My current grow is in week 4 of flower and doing great...

About my setup, I have a 4x4x7 growtent for my mother plant and clones/vegging plants. I have 1x250w 2700k cfl, and 1x125w 2700k clf that I use for vegging... For my mother I use a hydrofarm dwc bucket setup with hydroton rocks and have had great results so far... I have a 2x2 flood and drain table with a 8 gallon rez that I use to veg my babies...

For flowering I have a BCNL "Producer" which holds up to 18 plants and uses drip system w 4 inch pots... There is a built in controller system which controls lights (2x430w hps), watering, co2, and exhaust... I love the machine but wish they had added a thermometer and incorporated it into the exhaust... I currently have a full cabinet and am anxiously awaiting my harvest...

For nutrients I'm using advance nutrients grow, micro, bloom for my base... For rooted clones I'll supplement jumpstart... During flowering, I'll use base+carboload, big bud, overdrive, and possibly final phase...

To start my journal, last friday (4/3) I took 30 clones from my mother and put them in my ez cloner... I dipped in clonex rooting gel and have been spraying with a ph5.7 h2o, and h20 mixed with Jumpstart from advanced nutrients...

Here are some pics of my little babies after 8 days in the ez cloner... Anybody with questions or comments, feel free, thanks...

So my clones are starting their 2nd week in the EZ Cloner...
Ph-5.6
PPM-130 (tap wtr)
Foliar Spray-
10:1 water:jumpstart 1xdaily
100% water 2xdaily...

I changed the water in the ez cloner tonight just added straight ph'd water like always... Upon lifting the lid I noticed that over 70%-80% of the clones already have nice root systems developing... I'll add some pics of all roots later, I have noticed that the clones with the thicker stems are much slower to root... I think I have read this somewhere but definately accurate in my experience..

I am having some spidermite problems  :cuss:in my room currently, I have tried several different things on my mother plant and haven't been able to get rid of 100% of them yet... I have tried: neem oil, Ed Rosenthals Zero Tolerance, 1:3 alcohol:h20, and hot shot no pest strips so far... Also gave it a shower in the bathtub last night and that seemed to help more than anything... Will dip clones in neem oil before I transplant to flood and drain system... I'm thinking of ordering floramite to give the mother as well as vegging plants in the future... Anybody have experiences with floramite one way or the other???

The AK-47 clones have been in my ez cloner for 11 days now... I'm starting to notice very nice root development on most and several are even starting to grow new leaves and growing up...:!:
PH-5.6
TDS-140
Rez-78
Air-76
I am starting to get some yellowing on the leaves and am wondering if it would be time to add a weak nute solution?? Anybody, use weak nutes in their ez cloner or should I just leave them alone until they are transplanted...

Here are some pics of the clones, let me know what you think if anybody has any ideas or questions, feel free...

Here are a few more pics of my setup, I have to 4" 171cfm valuline centrifugal fans that I'm using for exhaust... One runs directly from tent through carbon filter and goes into the attic to get rid of hot air...
The other suks cool air from the cracked window and is set to only pull fresh cool air for 15 min every hour as this keeps my flowering plants at about 81-83 during lights on...
Lemme know what you think...

I sprayed my mother with a 1:3 alcohol:h2o solution again this evening and am noticing good results with this spray... I've been having problems with spidermites for about a month now and have tried everything under the sun... Guess alcohol is good for something after all!!!

:confused:I'm wondering if anybody know if this alcohol spray would be ok to use on flowering plants too??? Like wk5 of flower?? I'm having issues with these as well but not sure if alcohol will destroy my pretty crystals i've got...

i think if u just dont spray within the last 2 weeks of harvest and maybe throw an extra light up after your done spraying too youll be set trichome wise. nice grow man, looks really good

Current conditions: EZ Cloner
PH-5.7
PPM-210
Rez Temp-76
Air-79
Foliar Feed w 1/8 strength nute solution

Day 12 and my clones are growing roots like mad... Most roots taproots are between 3-6 inches and they are looking ready to transplant...
I'm noticing a yellowing starting at the outer part of leaf and progressing inwards. I'm almost 100% sure this is due to a N deficiency and this little issue should be taken care of once I transplant and get a little nutes to them...

This evening I cleaned enough hydroton for 21 3 3/4 inch pots and am currently soaking in water w/ a ph of 5.0... To clean the hydroton rocks I took a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in bottom and ran water through until all runoff was clear. I had problems with my first grow with dirty hydroton and with ph constantly going up so hopefully soaking for 24 hours in a low ph and cleaning it better will help with this problem...

I also did all my rez changes tonight so was very busy and didn't have time to take pics but will get some up later or tomorrow...

Finally got a chance to take a few pics after all the things i had to do today... Roots look very good for 2 wks in the cloner imo... I do seem to have a sweet spot right in the middle that gets the best amount of spray, the roots seem to grow faster/stonger in those spots...

In the closeups of the clones you'll notice what I think is an n defeciency, its pretty easy to see and you can see a few leaves in the different stages of deficiency. If anyone has different view on this let me know i'd love to hear tips from the pros about anything...
Does anyone have any good tips on transplanting to hydroton?? Planning on 1/4 strength nutes when i put these in my flood and drain, would this be appropriate since i'm seeing this def? What does everyone think so far, looking good bad??

producer updates? from your experience how well does the producer handle heat and smell?

BCNL Producer
Strain-AK-47
Prop-Clone
Lighting-2x 430w HPS
PH-5.8
EC-2.18
Rez Temp-68 ice cooled
Air Temp-83

ok, well for a producer update... i havent really been able to get any good pics of them b/c i don't like to open the cab unless lights are on, then it takes shitty pics, the couple times i've opened it up early to spray i was in a hurry to spray... I'll post the pics i took last night, none of em too great but it is what it is, will do better on the actual journal of this next batch... These ladies are on wk 5 d 2 on these pics...

funny you ask about the heat, i actually just got done entirely rerouting all of my ventilation for the room, i don't find that the axial fans quite cut it so I added a 117cfm centrifugal fan the help with the cooling of the lights, i cut a 4" hole into the floor and put a 4" dryer hose w pantyhose for a filter down underneath, I also put a 4" splitter on this line and have one hose hanging loose to help with ambient air temp. As soon as i plugged in this extra fan the temps at the glass went from 92 to 87 so i should be in good shape now...;-) The plants tips are about 4" from the glass right now and the temps were approaching 87 where the highest tips are... I have read that these temps are ok when using co2 but i'm shooting to keep my temps from 83-85 tops in this grow...

As far as smell, the carbon filter that came with it is working great so far, when i open the cab i get a def smell but when doors are shut all is good so far...

Where did you get your EZ cloner?

Looks great so far rep+
thanks man much appreciated, i actually got the ez cloner from a buddy who was gonna quit growing due to a baby i think... It works awesome so far man, this is my third batch i've done in it and probably could've xplanted after 7-10 days but i like to wait until 14 to get a good healthy system...

I actually did x plant to 3 3/4" (i know i said 4 earlier in journal but was wrong and couldn't edit that post so, its 3 3/4") net pots with hydroton earlier today, havent taken any pics of the new setup yet i've been really busy with ductwork and fans all night, ugh, i'll post pics of the girls in the producer now... Hopefully have time to post some pics of the new veg setup later on...
Thanks for stopping in, stay tuned will post updates for day 14 soon... :bigjoint:
