AK47. Trainwreck. CFL Grow W/ Pics

So I started this grow back on December 1st with a couple of trainwreck bagseeds and a ak47 clone from the club just experimenting with indoor growing. Since then I have started a 24 site aeroponics system and that is doing very well and decided to just leave these under cfls the whole time to see how much I could yield under a cheap cheap cheap system. I germinated the 3 seeds and planted them and sprouts were showing in 2 days. 24-0 lighting.

The original setup was a single fluoro tube light balast with 2 40w t-12 lights.

In the second week I added another balast (Stolen from my Garage) and the AK47 clone making my total light yield 4- 40w t-12 bulbs.

In the 4th week I could sex my plants and had 1 male (Got Lucky) and another one of my plants actually split and is growing 2 stocks of off the main and is getting really bushy especially since I topped it.

I just added 5 more CFL's 27w and have seen a lot of growth this last week. I have been keeping up on my nutes and have a homemade co2 bottle set up in the along with a box fan and also a osclating fan. Thr room maintains 78-80 degrees and the plants are on 18-6 lights this week before flowering in the next week or 2.

This was an extremely cheap way to grow with stuff found around your house. I recommend spending the money and setting up a quality system because your yield and quality will be so much better but this is still a fun experiment similar to what you would find in a college closet.

The pics are in order chrono order from week 3 - Present. The cfl's hang down in between both of the 40w Blasts.

Does anyone think these will have a chance of flowering decently with another 3 - 27w CFL's Making a total of 8 - 27 watt CFL's and 2-40 Watt t-12 fluro tubes?

It's Day 5 Since Adding 5 More CFL's and the plants are starting to have a lot of undergrowth and are extremely bushy. I am going to add 3 more 2700k CFL's and let veg for another 10 days. Does anyone know how big of buds i can expect froma grow like this with proper nutes?

Its been a week since the addition of the 5-27w 6500k CFL's and the plants are growing so much since going to 18-6 light. I plan on vegging for another 7 days. Does anyone recommend 0-24 complete darkness for a day prior to flowering? I've been hearing split opinions...I am still going to add 4 more 2700k CFL's in the next week before I flower. Anything I am forgetting?

WOW! Its been a week with no replies! That sucks.

When my lights go off for the last time in veg, I leave it dark until the proper time for the start of my flower time which ends up being almost 24 hours.

I have also switched up right away and have not noticed one bit of difference.

This is my first indoor grow and I was wondering what kinda buds I could expect with this cfl set up?

hmm well i've seen my buddies first plant the other day, and he is flowering his on cfls and his buds loook nice and and frosty but a little on the fluffy side, but look real tasty and sticky, very sticky =D, i'll ask what kinda cfls he used, but i know they looked blue spectrum, cause they had a very white light, and they where very big cfls, there had to be about 6 or more of them and it was all on the one plant. and his plant is a nice little bonsia plant many Bud sites and nice big buds too, i'd say about an oz or so total

Yeah thats one of the problems everyone says happens with using cfl's (Fluff Buds) I'm going to start flowering Monday and am going to add a little corn syrup to the water to see if I can get some nice tight buds.

it's all genes man. I put my babies in a 30 day veg and they turn out to be 3-5 footers. each lady comming out with about 1oz-3oz. All genes. You can always tie them down, go scrog, top em ( i don't like doing this at all), and other things to keep it short. I personally cut the buttom 6 nodes leaving the fan leaves; trying to achieve a single cola so i can move that single cola anywhere over time to fit my grow space.

Corn syrup? How does this make your buds more dense?
Closer to the light = more dense.

Corn syrup works in the same sense as molasses does during flowering it is just more friendly on a hydro set up because it is more refined and will not clog up your system and promote bacteria growth.

I added 5 more 23w 2700k cfl's today and am going to swith to 12-12 light tonight.

My total light yield is 5- 27w 6500k/5-23w 2700k/2 4ft fluuros.

The plants are getting a lot of vertical groth since being switched to 18-6 and I think its time to flower now so I have enough room. Could anyone tell me what my feeding cycle should be while flowering with tiger bloom?

So I started 12-12 light 3 days ago and since then I've started to see a lot of white and red hairs. I knew to expect some good groth in the first week of flowering but nothing like what I saw...I left my house in the morning and the middle plant was 3 inches away from the cfl. When I returned home later that night I saw that the plants had reched the cfl and the leaves were wrapped inside it...got a little burn on a couple leaves but nothing to worry about.

I am currently using tigerbloom for my feeding about every 2-3 days and corn syrup in the water on regular days.

So its day 5 of slowering and when I opened the close today I noticed a lot of flowering over night. The 2 sativa strains are getting really tall and almost becoming too tall for the room. I'm going to start tying some down and see if I can't fix the problem. The ak 47 isn't showing that many white hairs yet but I'm not too worried because it is a slower maturing plant. I'm still using tigerbloom every 2-3 days at about 900 ppm just to play it safe.

So as I thought I had to tie down my sativa strains because they're getting too big for my closet and are almost 5ft. tall. I'm getting a lot of early bud development on the trainwreck strains and my ak47 is a little farther behind as expected. I'm still on tigerbloom at about 900ppm for the next week or so.
