AKR, NL x BB, and NLB Seed Run

Hey guys, I have a grow in progress over in the new growers forum on two AKR's that are growing nicely with only a couple hiccups. I have the link in my sig if you're interested, but that is not what this is about.

What I am going to do is have an Afghan Kush Ryder, Northern Lights x Big Bud, and Northern Lights Blue Auto that I am going to seed using Tiresias Mist. I have been planning this ever since I threw down my first seeds, lol, there is so much I wanna do with these plants!

Step 1 is to germinate them tomorrow, using the paper towel method.

Step 2 planting them into 3 gallon pots on Monday, give or take a day depending on what the seeds look like and to let them grow under a T5 3 foot fluorescent tube light. (I am not too concerned on making them amazingly strong, as the main focus is on seeds, so the T5 I assume will be fine for a few weeks, until my AKR's are harvested and out of my tent.)

Step 3 is to let em grow!

Step 4 I will be using the TM on the plants as the directions say but instead of spraying I will be brushing on the TM with a modeling brush. I want to prevent any overspray.

Step 5.. this is where I need help from some of you guys. I want to cut the branches with pollen off and put them in water and collect the pollen that way to try and stop pollination everywhere, I want to try and keep track of which plant I pollinate with which pollen.

Step 6 is to pollinate the underbranches and what not on each of the three plants. I would like to self-pollinate each of them and also cross the strains but keep it as perfect as possible being sure to not let seeds form everywhere and me not knowing what seeds are what cross you know?

Step 7 let the seeds develop and the plants do there thing.

Step 8, gimme them seeds! letting them develop for 4-6 weeks.

Now I have questions:
1. A problem is I have never seen pollen sacs develop so I don't know when to cut them and put them in water.
2. Is it possible to smoke the buds that do form? I saw something about the silver being bad to smoke but good to ingest in a different thread. So can anyone tell me if they have smoked buds of a plant that only one branch was reversed?

Thanks for checking out my intro on what will be happening in the near future, I am open to advice and keep tuning in! I will have pics up in the near future recording my progress.

i did what your wanting to do on my last grow.4 lower branches were hand polinated, and i cut them 5 weeks into flower
i let the top branches go another 6 weeks,i got alot of seens out of the deal, and the weed smoked ok alittle harsh due to not being fully mature,(from the polinated seeded tops) the rest of the bud smokes very nice, you have to be pretty careful when doing it by hand,as even a couple of the upper buds i found a few seeds, ones i didnt polinate, its easy to tell when to get the sacs, youll seen some begin to open, thats when i cut mine, the plant will keep growing for a few days and then i harvested some and did the female, again if your not very careful,it can turn real bad for what ever other females u have,i only had 1 female out of 4 plants,so i used the best looking male for the project, lol

Thanks for that Tek ;) A nute sensitive one huh? Damn, I really hope it doesn't apply to all crosses of that kind.

Okay, so I posted this a bit early! An unexpected event will be happening March 6-9 so I will be waiting to plant these for a couple of weeks, just to make sure I do not miss any time using the Tiresias. I don't want to have to apply it, then leave for 4 days and hope that everything turns out. Sorry about that!! I will update when I start the germination process!

I wish you luck. I used silver colloidal spray to make balls on my NLXBB auto. I sprayed a bit later than maybe I should -- but this is how she looked after a few weeks of it.

I had another NLXBB auto and a Paki ryder auto that I pollinated at the same time: Collected a ton of NLXBB auto seeds:

Far less from the new cross Paki ryder X NLXBB auto...but enough to play with for sure:

I froze some of the pollen and pollinated a LW2 ...waiting a few more weeks to harvest the seeds -- I hope anyway )

Wow that's awesome! Thanks for the pictures BTW it will help me a lot while trying to pollinate and see what it will really look like when the balls appear.

When you say you sprayed it later than you should have... How much later? What did the plant look like? Once it starts making the little puff-balls of female flowers on the tops is it too late? Also. doesrubing cs on the plantwork??

They were well into preflower. It worked fine, just that there was a lot of flowering around the sacs by the time the pollen was mature. Just made harvesting the pollen a bit of a pain. When I do it again, I will start spraying before preflower...maybe 4 weeks from germination. Not sure what you mean by rubbing CS on the plant-- I made my own CS and sprayed for a few weeks daily. Here is a link to how I made the CS if you are interested. https://www.rollitup.org/auto-flowering-strains/749923-chem-induced-males.html

Hope your plans are still coming together. Harvested my last seed batch...used frozen pollen (frozen for a couple months) -- got 96 NL X BB X LR2 seeds; Total seed harvested from the NLXBB pollen is around 800ish. Happy with how things went...little depressed because nothing is growing in my grow room now. Need to make some upgrades and do a deep cleaning...before I am allowed to start another grow -- so says the little lady )
