IDK I like Earthworm castings much more then compost personally.... Generally alot more costly though....

Outdoors and Indoors though I can do and desire very different soil textures and conditions.... outside I mulch with starw, or grass clips, or dead leaves.... works great.... Sometimes I use real mulch too when my neighbor kicks it down.

I have never personally used mushroom compost. I have my own leaf mold compost pile. I dont brew compost teas though. I brew guano teas with wormcastings.

Same thing I do as well, dont really breed compost teas, generally outdoors I just use my compost pile from the prior year mixed into my garden soil at the time of tilling ( which is actually suppose to be horrid for the soil biology but due to my soils structure it needs to be done ).

I am currently making tea a.t.m. which is 1 TBS. 0-12-1 Guano and like 3 or 4 cups of E.W.C. and along with that I also am trying some Uprising foundation powder at 4tsp. Brewing up about 15 gallons in all. ( normally I just use guano and e.w.c. but I am trying the uprising cause it has alot of good organics along with alot of Ca and Mg and using coco as my base medium I wanna see if this will elimanate later flower CaMg problems that come with some of my heavier feeding 8wk strains.

I had to friend request you once I read your Quote/Disclamer at the bottom, lololol, coughed out coffee when I first read it to the end. hahaha. Peace.

I do have a question you may be able to help me with though.. I have been testing my food/water with one of those liquid Ph testers where you get it as close to 6.5 as possible which besides being a pain in the arse to use, it is not exactly accurate. I am getting it to a piss yellow which is around 6 to 6.5 by my color guide but i'm not guaranteed and I'm a perfectionist and I'm tired of guessing. I want a ppm meter also but only if I can find a high quality one that has the Ph level too for around $100.00 bucks.
My question is: Which is the best digital Ph tester? I'm so tired of testing with the visual tester and then adding Ph up and seeing its stll too low and haveing to rinse the tester tubes with distilled water and test again only to have added just a little much and turn it bright green (over 8) or luckily getting it close. I need a digital Ph tester. This is gonna get even harder because I am going to be mixing 5 gallons at a time now instead of 1 gallon. I bought a water cooler style bottle and a pump with a good airstone for oxygenizing the water (I was tired of buying the gallon distilled water bottles, it gets expensive).

Many of you may already know that the Native Americans would bury a whole fish next to every corn plant or any plant for that matter. They had the true Organics down. Happy Growings. :)

Hanna is a very good quality product; non-waterproof ($33) or waterproof ($76). Don't spend more if all it does is test water pH. eHydroponics.com guarantees the lowest prices and I have found the reliable...they carry Hanna as well as other brands.

Any idea on the best Ph tester. I'm going to get one at 11 am Alaska time. It's 10:34 AK time now. :)
Sorry man kinda hard to responsed within a time frame since I can't log in at work at such....

I like the Hanna Black Combo meter, or the BlueLab combo meter. Both are nice...... But honestly for like $15-$20 you can get the yellow ph meter, which is a Hanna/Milwaukee both are made in the same factory in China and just labeled different depending on they where made for that run. They work just fine, I have one now that has served me over 1.5 years and if it breaks it has totally been worth it. Also its very accurate I check my calibration once a month or so and its never been off more then like .1 or .2 tops. If you are running soil or soilless mix this is plenty fine.... and its a great meter for that as in soil/soilless you have better natural buffering ability and a much larger margin/ph range.
