A buddy of mine who has been growing for sometime talked about a strain he once had, and still has access to called Alaskan Blue Rye, he said it was a short uniform plant had big dense buds and reeked of pure skunk, he has grown trinity and said its way skunkier. If anyone has any info on this strain please share. thanks

I searched around and this is as close as I could get. Alaskan Blue Rye seems to be a type of rye that grows in Alaska and turns blue. Maybe it's a local strain like Texada Timewarp is to the Vancouver Island - copied the name off the rye.

We used our reversed sativa pheno Blueberry to pollinate our Kodiak Gold sativa pheno mother (f-8). This particular Kodiak Gold (aka Matanuska Thunderfuck) was selected from many plants in last years green house grows. She is very fast with slight purple hues showing on the tips of her rock hard resin coated compact buds. She was crossed to our killer sativa pheno Blueberry. The sativa pheno Blueberry is amazing, a very unique fragrance that is sweet and piney. The high is definitely on the sativa side, up with a strange facial tingle. This F1 hybrid is very uniform and truly expresses what we were aiming for when we bred her, right in the middle, sweet piney hashish flavor blue/purple hues and a very good yield of AAA+ quality and yields very well with a respectable flowering time.

Blue Alaskan Thunderfuck

Grade:
A-
Type: Hybrid, 60% Sativa, 40% Indica
Price: $15/Clone
Looks: Very unique colors overall. Light green throughout with purple/blue hues close to the stem. The hairs vary between brown and red.
Smell: Fruity, Piney and Hashy.
Taste: Just like the smell.
Buzz Type: A great combination of indica and sativa. I love this hybrid because it supplies you with a heavy head high that does not put you to sleep.
Buzz Length: Medium.
Overall: I got to say, Blue Alaskan Thunderfuck has it all. An even balanced high combined with delicious smell and taste make it a must-try. An Alaskan (or Matanuska) Thunderfuck female is bred with a Blueberry male to make a strain that not only flowers quickly but produces good yields of dense and resinous nugs. It is a truly well rounded strain for both smoker and grower alike. –duplicity

Congrats on a successful grow. I know from experience that it’s not easy no matter how many plants you have. Looking forward to seeing what else you’ve worked with. –Chubbs

This was my first grow. I had an absolute blast with it. Due to where I am living right now I can’t continue to grow but I will as soon as I have that opportunity again. I still have to try soil so my next run may be 1 soil and 1 hydro.
Thanks for the kind words :).

duplicity: I tried my hand at both and I think if I ever grow again it’ll be in soil. It’s just a little more forgiving when it comes to stupid mistakes.

Dupe, at first my god you were all over the place with that review, a complaint here, a compliment there, and then I realized. You grew this yourself, and god DAMN man you aint givin yerself enough fuckin credit dude!!! And as far as the lasting length goes, I can see plain as day that that was because of the cure. Your first grow???? Dude you should be VERY proud!

And @ chubbs, Man right on the money with that, soil is MUCHHH more forgiving, and being that he’s still begining, anything else would just be foolish at these seed prices, and the amount of risk we take in growing.
