in California clones off the streets cost 5 bucks.. 10 to 12 bucks at the club. I can get 2 footers for 20 bucks a piece .Alaska's now legal for adults to grow 6 plants, but there won't be dispensaries or any commercial component til 2016. We've had a legal medical program for a while now, but there's no legal medical dispensaries either (maybe there's a few, but there's no established legal medical industry in AK.) So while people can legally grow, there's really no place to get clones, legally.
I've been a legal medical patient/grower here and have grown from seed for the three years I've been in state. I imagine I'm not the only grower who's suddenly getting requests for plants from friends and thier friends too, and I'm wondering how to handle sharing my genetics with friends of friends.
Giving away to friends is no big deal, and I'm not a hoarder. I'll share the best of what I've found, like this JTR:

Shit I wouldn't even charge $5 a clone unless they where going to keep it as a mother they just flower them fine but with legalization ain't nobody gonna fuck me out of my cuts I want to have some of the best weed I don't select seeds for nothing got about 90 SSH seeds to select from got to find something amazing.
That has more to do with pheno hunting.
You have to crack some seeds and find out for your self.
