Alien genetics ??

I also ran the Alien Tarantula by Franchise when I got them as Freebies.
Gotta say I was impressed. Incredible vigor. They held their own beside Dominions Figure Four crosses.
Looked similar grown, but during Veg the Alien tarantula were beasts. Huge leaves and thick stalks. Poster child for hybrid vigor, almost prehistoric looking. I felt like I had strangers in the grow with them there. Different from everything else visually.
Just as short and stout as the Kush crosses and quicker, several finishing at the 49 day mark, while the dominion went a week longer for the same size plant.
Taste wise, they reminded me of the old school hash we would get from overseas in the 80s. Gave me the munchies, too. Which is rare for me.
Excellent water hash, but not as tasty as the Figure Four crosses, Stashplant, and Koughdrop by Dominion, which were very similar plants at finish, structure wise. Be careful not to wash too long or you lose flavor though, because the Tarantula is spicy and earthy, and it sort of bleeds away with too much washing.
(I was looking for a solid indica, before I got the Pakistan Chitral Kush from those studs over at AOseeds in Spain.)
Not the strongest plants, but I initially thought they would be, as they were usually some of the frostiest plants in the canopy, but they gave a nice full body stone, dealing with pain and giving you a smile. The hash was delicious sprinkled on some flower, and made my old ass friends remember the bad old days of smuggled hash from Amsterdam.
And you get lots of hash from the Alien Tarantula. (Leave the Larf. The heck is wrong with you trimming that thing like a palm tree? Don't you know Larf is the best source for water hash? :) )
After the debacle of missing out on the excellent Kosher Tangies I grew out without cloning, I still have the Tarantulas. Fool me once, as they say.
Can't imagine myself giving them all away. Not gonna happen. :)

rosinallday has some aaw crosses that are some of the best and easiest meds Ive grown to date. Not one cross has been disappointing. I do believe he used their male, but the sour apple phenos of the crosses are very good, imho.
Any pics or references to threads w pics of MAC x AAW??
Thanks

I haven’t yet, but as I’m shifting to indoor only I’m looking closer at a few of these that I wouldn’t have ran otherwise. There are some pics on here somewhere, it took me a bit of digging when I was looking, but someone has posted flower pics. Have a cut of Mac from an f1 pack that was just gifted to me, so I’ll likely move that one up for the alien party. After I get through my current round.

Ok, so I switched the Alien Tarantulas to some Earth dust and they are completely different plants.
Whereas they were fast growing but average potency in Blue Planet nutes. Very healthy and vigorous, but no genuine STONE.
In Earth dust and Black Gold soil, composted for 3 months and amended with Sea90, they are beautiful plants. MUCH frostier and fading to a rich purple color (burgundy is more accurate i guess) at finish.
Seriously, one of these ATs is a centerfold plant. Leaves as big as paper plates, fading to a rich burgundy color, highlighted with frost rails. At four foot tall the stem is big enough that I will make a shotgun bowl out of it for a friend.
The smell of old school Afghani hash in the room is like the best air freshener ever. Spicy, Earthy. Just like an old pothead from the 70s remembers the hash tasting like back in the day.
I am getting people in my area addicted to that old school afghani hash again. It produces so much hash I can afford to give it out like life savers. One for you, one for you, and one for you...
I was going to let these plants go, being unconvinced because they were less than high potency. But I have changed my mind.
In 30 years I've never found such a solid hash plant.
I can't let them go.
Alien Tarantula for the win.

Starfighter way below mid grade in high & potency, I definitely 100% agree with you WBW. It looks dense and frosty - sure if that floats your boat then worth it lol. Lemony taste/smell, dense nuggets but no hit!?

Here's mine
I like these but are those a bunch of fox tails or just the way the bud formed no disrespect great looking buds just wondering about the tails

Yeah. Out of 10 I got one specimen plant. Very colorful and excellent structure.
All the plants had good structure, but some were a tiny bit stretchier.
All of them made a solid canopy though, no outrageous growers.
The main difference I saw was in structure. Some more like a classic hash plant, a few with longer side branches, which could have been grown a bit more for a SCROG.
The taste is straight up classic afghani hash. Dry it well and cure it right, and it's a blast from the past. Spicy like a cologne. Like a hippy cologne.
If I had to guess what the average potency was, I would say 15%.
I wish I had a crack at the original Alien gentics.
These however, are exceptional, I think, as a display of Afghani genetics.

He lost the originals, from what I understand.
I have pakistani indicas, afghani indicas.
I just thought what I saw in them was special.
I don't see it in the new crosses.
I'm a landrace nut.

This is his newer releases from a couple of weeks ago.

Alien still holds most seeds from his first release. This is the smaller thread of the big one that has what people have from him.

He started with a landrace from Afghanistan.
He lost it, and just started chucking pollen.
Wasn't even a breeder, just had a kick ass plant - that he lost.
At least, that's what I read...
I liked the Alien Tarantula I grew. Wish I could get more.
I'd try anything with Alien in it.
He ain't got nothing.
I'm not a hater, by any means.
I simply have no use for what he is producing now.
