i hope the accelerated growth also increases yield proportionally
I've been changing strains every single grow, so I won't have any useful direct points of comparison in regards to my SIPs. There are several more seasoned growers with longer/better histories than I who could have some valuable input about SIPs yields in the coming weeks and months.

And the impact may not be universal. If one grower's method was using coco and letting the medium dry between waterings, and another was growing in organic soil and always kept it moist, the coco guy's first grow in SIPs might show more a dramatic difference just because the plants have a more drastic condition change to react to. I'm just guessing, but that and the fact that we're all building them to different specs, I would not be surprised if the results varied.

Another factor that may emerge over time will be finding out if some strains respond to SIPs differently than others. Or maybe Indicas or Sativas do better in this set up. Or... this could be one of those rare things that just works in 99% of the situations. Time will tell.

hey man how do you plan on using those clear tubs? (maybe they arent clear, but it looks like it in the pic) i would watch out for algae build up on your roots in a clear tub
Good looking out but no worries they go inside black totes:)
And joe is most likly a bit busy right now but i think he got the sour d off a head on fish tour 5 or 6 years ago

shout out to @Humanrob check out my SIP system. in a couple days I'm installing a water balancing/filtration system that connects the 4 reservoirs... makes it so i can fill them all at once through one tube, and ensure my water stays clean.
Heck ya man, , Sips rock it, along for this ride,, looks great

I know what you mean about SIPs and boys. I'm running 5 experimental outdoor SIPs, and four have clones, only one has a plant from a seed in because that's all I'd roll the dice on. It's hard to tell from the pics, did you hook up the filtration system or are those just bubbler feed tubes?

never had the time to hook up the filtration system so i went on without it. i don't have water in the res yet cause i didn't know if it would be good for the seedling.

next time around ill hook it up for sure.

put it outside and get the pollen, that's an awesome mutation or pheno.

I'm not sure why water in the res would be bad for the seedling? But I'm only a few seasons in to growing, so I have a lot to learn.

No one else that I'm aware of is running a filter system. After a few more people pull apart their SIPs between their first and second runs, they may think about adding one! I still haven't seen any pics from anyone showing what the inside of the res looked like after a grow. It's something I'm interested in, but won't know if its necessary until I pull mine apart.

so i plant my seeds like 1 knuckle deep....which is less than 3 inches... and I've read that the top 3 inches stay dry... thats why i haven't started actually using the sips.

i still have time to hook up the filter system...but I'm actually going to put the funds towards making new lights to replace my older ones.
