why would you want to buy all of that or what are the benefits of them being seperate

they have all in one, and not the same as dimmable. you still have to buy the dif bulbs though

Don't go for LEDs, don't waste your time and money. I have done enough research to be able to say that you will NOT get bigger yields out of your space.
LEDs claim to have better g/w rate and it is true, the problem is that they pull WAAAAY less watts at the wall. If you are looking to maximize yield in a specific area like yours a combination of MH/HPS(or just HPS) would be greater in terms of yield.

you have 5x5 space. that's 25square feet. 25x50watts/foot= 1000 watts light would be more than enough

Go with a 1000W Hortilux HPS I am sure many of the old school growers would agree with me here that they are the shit, you won't regret it.
If you are concerned about heat, then a ventilated hood reflector like the new Raptor (choose appropriate size online) would do just great.
The rest is in your hands, ventilation and your grow style
Good luck
You did that "research"with your head up some luddites ass.

Because it's "all expenses paid" (so not out of my pocket). I didn't know about the all in one, so that'd be ideal. Dimmable definitely not though.

I don't understand what you could research with your head up some1's ass, I did that research through reading and communicating on different forum and experienced growers I know personally. To be honest I wish I had a possibility of doing a side by side comparison but I simply don't. I did research the best way I could.
If you can prove me wrong, please do otherwise stfu.

its not productive to do research in that position, bro thats why i said it ''YOU DID THAT RESEARCH WITH YOUR HEAD UP YOUR ASS.''

riu is populated with the best led grows around... many, many 1+ Gpw a few 2+ GPW. the "different forum" you checked was a shitty place to learn about current lighting tech. Led grow big tasty solid nugs more efficiently than anything but the sun (with a few exceptions.)

look into it yourself
i dont give a fuck about provng shit for you

The only way HPS wins in HPS vs CXB series LEDs is if you believe the marking too much and run too few watts of CXB LEDs. The HPS is about 85% as efficient as the LEDs. 1000w HPS ≈ 850w of CXB LEDs. Now, HPS is way less expensive up front, to the point that it would take many years to pay off the difference in electrical savings. If money doesn't matter, go with top bin CXB3590 LEDs, if money does, go with HPS + some vero 29's in 6500k + UVB of your choice.

It does make sense what you are saying but I just haven't seen one grower that tried LED and didn't go back to MH/HPS. And most of them have more experience/knowledge than I do
I was considering building a panel next month for my tomatoes. This could be a very interesting project. Unfortunately I don't have access to a lux meter.
How many LEDs of each type would you recommend for a 3x3 grow tent.

P.S. If it turns out bad, I'll send you the bill for a refund;-)

Also a few of the DIY guys have started businesses building state of the art LED lamps. They are expensive but if you need low heat or low energy usage they would be well worth it. If you're interested enough to build your own, (super fun learning exp) everythiong you need to learn and all the sources for the materials is available in the threads.

There is enough reading for a week or even more . I know Growmau5 is killing it, but he just made a full journal recently, I did not see it to be honest.
I remember him doing a first led inspired on http://www.bmlhorticulture.com/spydr-1200-grow-max-spectrum/ That price tho, ouch

yes great led cost a lot more than great hid
LEDs came a long way from what it used to be and the new Cree CXB3590 proves it.
Growmau5 did an awesome job with his diy 1200W led. My question is, can you pump more light in that square footage or is it at it's limit?
I mean the old school way was to put 2x1000 hps in that 4'x10' space of his and squeeze something close to 3.5-4 pounds (depending on the strain).
he managed to get similar results with 1200 watt LED. And that is awesome. What if you put an extra 600 watts in there?

P.S. I mention Growmau5 because so far he got the LED yield record in my book

I had a 5x5. It had a 1200 LED, a 900 LED, a 600w HPS, a 400w MH, and a few 150 hps.

I grew thick colas.... . . lol Lemme try to find a pic
