All this talk but no pics to back it up...

I keep hearing people talking about using T5's for veg and flower but have yet to see pictures of any final results. Maybe I am not looking hard enough but I have searched RIU for 3 days now. I would like to hear from anyone who uses T5's ONLY for flowering (UVB's are ok too, just not CFL's or HID's)

Those are some fat ass fan leaves. Do you have any flowering pics? +REP for not posting opinion or something irrelevant. What size and type of lights are you using for veg/flower?

You are having a hard time finding these examples because flowering w/t5 ONLY doesn't work so well. Here are some pics of my t5 grow about 3 days after I added the cfls. up to that point it was a t5 only grow, until about week 3 of flower with disappointing results. The above fixture is a sunleaves pioneer 6 tube and you can see behind on the wall are 2 12 inch t5 tubes also, which i added at the beginning of flower. The cfls made a big difference. also for what its worth my light meter read the warm cfls as more intense than the t5 blooms in both fixure types. i didnt provide pics of the finished product because they are "tainted".

Fuck, I don't want to do HID, its more work for the heat/smell control and ventilation so it looks like CFL's and uvb. Thanks guys. +Rep for the pics bro. Thanks for saving me a headache, sorry it didn't work so well for you.

ive seen decent t5 setups, you really need to have NO light leaks and spend a lot of $$ to get good results with t5s, plus they are BIG and take up a lot of room.. I really dont see the appeal..

I wish I could help you out but I am so frickin lazy. I have used a 6 bulb 4 foot t5 now for veg for a month now. Amazing veg production for a 2x3 tray of some small clones growing big and a huge and I mean HUGE Super lemon Haze that is now two months old topped and about the size of a hedge and growing in a five gallon bucket dwc. The veg is great but I put a flower girl that was under a 600 watt hps with co2 for all but the last two weeks of its life under there and I swear that I did in fact lose some yeild by using the 6 bulb. Of course it was 6500k too.

Way cheaper on the power. I no longer run a cooling fan at all. There is no heat. However I will still use a 600 to a 1000 with co2 for flower. I want club quality pot at least!

hey SomeGuy has a thread called SomeGuy's vetical scrog or something like that, its a long thread, but in the beggining he has some pics of some scrog grows he did using t5's from start to finish. he got pretty decent yields too, you might want to check it out... floro's can be used to flower, but there more suited for sog's and scrog's because of the even canopy height spread over a larger footprint. it allows you to really get the lamps close, so you can maximize your coverage... floro's were used quite extensively for growing up untill the 80's when MH HID lighting became cheaper and more available and HPS lamps were also just coming onto the market.
though today you can get better rsults with floros than ever before, HID and CFL's outperform t5's in almost every catagory. but floros have there advantages too, its all what works best for you... dont listen to the haters.

Read through my journal. I have flowered with both t-5 and hid. T5 does pretty good. Its not a short journal but if you look you will find what your looking for.
