for Lights I have 8 warm Cfls and One 70W HPS security light on them. I'm gonna go straight HPS with these.

Shooting for at least 250w or 400 hps.

GET a 400 seriously u wont regret it. for now lower ur lights alot the CFLs 3-5 Inches away and on the HPS u use the back of hand method u put ur hand under the light till its comfortable and thats ur light level

go 400, then 1000 for flower , u should reach around a pound if u flower at like 10 -12 inches and have a few plants and take care of them

i think the 1000 is way overboard for ur setup but whatever lol i would go with a 400 watt per 5 plants or so. thats also per Jorge lolol

i bought 1 400w hps and later on i added another u can get a 1000w rather than a 400w for just a tad bit more.

is there a big heat difference with the 1000w? I just got my ventilation for my 400w dailed in. Would you need to upgrade to keep temps down?

Wow these buds are shrinking fast.
they have been drying for a few days and I've seen hella weight loss. couple more days and into jars.

Lucky that I have more going into flower now.
Man you really learn from your first grow.

Got a question?

I just transplanted my Vegs into new containers.
I found this soil and it just grabbed my fancy.

Cactus/ citrus soil: BY MG

Fast draining includes: Perlite, peat moss, sand and food for 3 months.

Looked pretty good, I transplanted them with this soil.
Just wondering if anyone has used this before?

I guess if it does not work out when I determine sex I'll change back to what I used before.

it sounds pretty decent i use a blend of perilite, peat moss and topsoil. if they dont like it u can transplant them again into something else. We growers tend to go with a NPK count type soil so we know what were getting, jorge cervantes reccomends a soilless mix by Sunshine tthe #4 mix. and yea the buds loose like 75 percent of weigth so they shrink quite a bit

Sorry but you can't hate on Jorge. If anything he's pretty down to earth. Not a show off at all... And if you had watched his videos carefully your grow would have probably come out looking a lot better. So you can't really call it "mehh".

Yeah there are "newb mistakes", but you can avoid most of 'em with just a little research.

but in any case congrats on your 1st grow and harvest. toke it well :bigjoint:
