Alright.....So what would YOU do?

Ok so I have recently started growing for myself, I NEED to harvest about 10lbs every 2 months. Space is no issue and I have 12,000 watts at my disposal.

Currrently I'm growing 11 trees in drip feed buckets (see my signature for link to current grow). I set this room up the way I did, as this is how I had been taught, and this is how everyone in my network grows. And I have personally seen what rooms like this can produce.

However I'm really liking this scrog idea. And the thought of a perfectly even sea of massive colas is enough to convince me to turn against the herd.

SO, the question is. With space being no object, my current flower room is 13'x22', veg room is 13'x13' and the following equipment:

12 1000 watt bare bulb Setups
I have 22 drip feed bucket set ups (11 for veg 11 for flower),
2 55 gallon reservoirs
2 1056gph submersible pumps,
2 marina 200 air pumps
4 6" Air stones in my 2 15 gallon "hearts"
1 12" MaxFan and filter Combo for exhaust,
2 10" vortex fans.
And a few oscillating fans here and there.

How would you set this up to achieve the yield I need in the most efficient way possible, Using the equipment I already have....I don't want to spend a bunch more dough as this is strictly medicinal and not for sale.

So please, take a look at my current grow and let me know how you would set this up...I'm really looking forward to everybody's design ideas!

Thanks for that link!

But the wooden stands and the 5gal buckets are stationary. The 5gal buckets all have a 3/4" drain line connected
to them. So they have to remain where they are. When it comes time to move plants from veg to flower I have to pull the 3gal buckets out of the 5gal buckets, and carry them into my flower room.

I usually have someone with me to support to root mats that are hanging out of the bottom of the 3 gal bucket.

U need to grow 60 plants in 10 gallon pots. Your medium has to be 1 bail of sunshine #4 mixed with 2 bags of ff light warrior.
u need to be using house and garden nutes minus the roots excellerator and amino treatment and minus the nitro boost.
u need to use your 55 gallon Rez and fill it with 50 gallons of water then add nutes accordingly and hand water.
u also need more fans on the walls.
If useing clones only a 4 week veg. Growing them straight out, no topping no nothing.
This will give u way more then your asking for on even the lowest yielding strains.

PKHydrog,

Nice setup! The space and equipment that you have is great, and you should be harvesting way more than 10 lbs easy from each harvest. If each light bulb is a 1000k watt bulb you should get at least 600 grams a plant, at least. I would recommend a reflector and to make sure your fans are blowing on the top of the canopy of your girls. Even though you temp gauge said 78.8 is that the temp at the canopy? SCROG would be ideal for the what you want you to achieve but every strain doesn't like being scrog. Get bigger buckets for the roots more room bigger plants.

No disrespect intended.....

nobody sees this as a problem?

this is gonna be one of them deals where 5 more lbs of bullshit makes its way to my part of the country and will be sold as "medical" ...... kids will eat it up cause of the fancy name , adults will throw it in the pile with the rest of the commercial around.

the problem i see , is this shit will make it to a pharmacy.

long story short .... when someone grows commercially , they grow commercial everytime.

i hope you prove me wrong an the shit is some of the best in the world!

This is NOT a commercial grow. NONE of the final product will be making its way to any market. 60% of this product will go to my father in-law with lupus. Lupus is called the disease of 1000 faces. He suffered from severe arthritis loss of appetite and painful skin rashes among many other things. My wife makes him a salve/balm for his skin and and joints...it requires 2lbs of dried product to make 200g of finished balm. He'll go through 500-600g of salve in 2 months.

30% of my final weight will go to my mom who is currently battling breast cancer. We make her a few pounds of butter along with a bunch of pre-made edibles.

And finally, whatever is left over I usually split it between smoke and butter for myself and wife. I fractured my skull 5 years ago at work and have been suffering severe chronic headaches as well as tinnunitis in my ears, anxiety and depression. I have run the gauntlet of narcotic pain killers, but I choose to use cannabis instead.

I don't blame you for thinking it though...at first it seems like a lot of product for one guy.

To be honest straight up trees are the way to go.

Everything else IMO is too labour intensive for the size of grow.

Nobody???

scrog, SOG, LST, what's the best way to maximize the space?
You can pull 10-12 easily with a SCROG. My room is smaller (11.5x19.5'), 6k watts, 12 plants hand watered. I run CO2 now but pulled 9 my first run with no CO2.

Thanks man, right now that's exactly what I'm doing. So far all I've done is top them once early on in veg, then I just let then do their thing.

Beautiful...there is something about a scrog that really peaks my interest. My only problem is that I need to move my plants from my veg room to my flower room...tough to do when your plants are weaved through a screen. How do you scrog guys minimize your grow time...I feel like I would need two rooms of the same size and setup rotating crops to be able to harvest on a regular basis....otherwise your waiting a full veg-flower cycle for each harvest.

scrog is really cool , but very ...uh... different from what were used to. the screen an all the veg time required takes some time an work..... too much for me.

now the original meaning of sog was meant to do the same thing. keep one solid canopy and grow more uh.. effieciantly. you can do that without so much "training" with the original sog method: put a whole bunch of very small plants into the flower room with hardly any veg and you will end up with a full canopy (all the same size if species is same) in a "quicker" time frame and all the fruit will be bigger stuff , so there is hardly any smaller , harder to trim, fruit.

pros: its ALL uniform bigger buds , so, much easier to work with in the end, and it only takes around 8-9 weeks from the clone showing roots. (standard 8 week species)

cons: LOTS of food an water an more often.

if i can help you in any way just let me know. (same with most of the forum)

I took cuts before the last round went into flower, vegged them in my closet under T5s. The 12 plants were about 4' tall but really spindly in 5g pots. I repotted to 10g air pots just before flower room. They were put under screens and vegged for 10 days, then flipped. 1st pic is day one in room, 2nd is day 8 after flip.

Hey PK...I have a grower with 12 600 waters and he grows perpetual. 12 plants 12 lights, 9 week cycle 2 plants in every week and 2 harvested. Man he has it dialed down to a science. One plant under a 600 watter, can and is, producing 450-500g per. You do the math he is very close to hitting your goal. Surely you should be able to surpass your goal with 1000 waters, the key is how long you veg and how you prune....JAS

No worries man, you said no disrespect and there was none taken. I just wanted to be clear about my intentions with this medicine.

To be honest I was also sceptical when you said that all that weed was personal - I thought "Yeah. OK. Whatever..."
Then I read how you've had some really shitty luck.
Kudos for trying to do the right thing by your parents.
For too many westerners, in our day and age, it's one way traffic - when it comes to the parent/adult child relationship.

About your OP:
Can't you experiment under 1 or 2 of your 1000watter's???
See how it goes and how you feel before diving into the deep end, head first?

Or are there reasons why this is not an acceptable choice?

Whatever happens - Best of British Luck
To you, your loved ones and your plants

Deffinatly stick with vert bare bulbs it's deffinatly the way to go man. Just pulled down one of my trees a couple weeks back, 15.9 oz off of one. But I only grow 4 plants surrounded by 5 bulbs

How many watts are your bulbs? And how long do you veg?
