alternating 1000w & 250w HPS. any feedback?

6 plants, a couple weeks into flowering, all are very healthy

i'm currently running a 250w HPS for the majority of the time, and then using a 1000w HPS for about 1 or 2 days per week. any potential problems?

the idea is that the 1000w is more than enough for 6 plants but the super high lumens have many advantages. i figure in the real world, plants are getting more or less sun light on a daily basis, constantly fluctuating.

any feedback on this light alternating experiment?

All I can really say is that this is one of those reasons why I am loving my digital dimmable Lumatek. Indoors or out, less intense light means decreased photosynthetic capacity and ultimately less yield. A plant that is in the shade or for whatever reason receives less sunlight (over-all) is going to yield less than a plant which spent most of it's life in direct sunlight. I understand not wanting to go overboard with it if all you have is those plants, and I have no idea how big those plants are, but I can say with confidence that you'll end with bigger plants and more bud in the end if you use the 1000w bulb for the remainder of the grow.
