Amendments? Any great soil suggestions? (experienced gardeners only please)

I think you will be good man. Plant nutrient isn't rocket science. The nutrient companies want us to believe otherwise though. I use promix. $25 for a 3.8 cu ft bale, which breaks down to around 7 cu ft. Add one tablespoon per gallon of something like Fox Farm American Pride or Marine Cuisine and you are good to go. Hand feed with 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Dyna Gro Bloom every other water and the plants love it.

i should clarify... i'm preparing for the outdoor season. looking for something that'll feed for longer periods, more hands free, less time spent visiting with the babies... whereas indoor yeah... i agree.

can i use the espoma amendments/fert:

blood/bone
plant tone
green sand
cottonseed meal

...in there recommended doses/amounts? or should i cut down as with most ferts?

I'd stay away from blood and bone meal in an outdoor grow. It just sounds like a bad idea to me. Even if it has no odor to us, who knows what it smells like to the local woodland creatures. Don't want them coming and digging at your roots because it smells like a dead animal down there.
