And the Dems Give Bush More Power...

So a House, controlled by the Dems, have passed a Bill to let private companies "off the hook" for illegal wiretaps as long as the POTUS says it's OK. It's expected that the Senate, also controlled by the Dems, will pass this Bill as well. Bush applauds the decision.

The provision granting amnesty to lawbreaking telecoms, Title VIII, has the exact Orwellian title it should have: "Protection of Persons Assisting the Government." Section 802(a) provides:
[A] civil action may not lie or be maintained in a Federal or State court against any person for providing assistance to an element of the intelligence community, and shall be properly dismissed, if the Attorney General certifies to the district court of the United States in which such action is pending that . . . (4) the assistance alleged to have been provided . . . was --
(A) in connection with intelligence activity involving communications that was (i) authorized by the President during the period beginning on September 11, 2001, and ending on January 17, 2007 and (ii) designed to prevent or detect a terrorist attack, or activities in preparation of a terrorist attack, against the United States" and (B) the subject of a written request or directive . . . indicating that the activity was (i) authorized by the President; and (ii) determined to be lawful.
Way to go Nancy and Harry! Keep up the good work!

So basically, they can see everything that is on my computers' desktop?

?? and my emails?

Dude WTF... These guys wanna catch all the conspiracy theorists... and try to detain em... or anyone trying to cause a movement for freedom.

Yup, Obamas words are more inspiring than McCains but in all reality he's just a Hilary with a spending problem.
Fucking Dems should seperate themselves or at least make it know they are standing up for man, not a political purpose.
Tapping peoples phones shows that the Bush admin is interested in sabatoging folks like Sphincter and not chasing Osama. Which was proven when the CIA shut down the team centered on catching Osama.

It's cool though, I'm not going to swithc up and go from calling Osama a freedom fighter to calling him evil, freedom fighter it is.

I'm pretty sure hidden in this bill is a complete pardon for the Bush regime for all past and future crimes against humanity. This is the most ludicrous part of the bill. It also lets the communication providers off the hook. Fuck the gutless democrats,. It will take someone like Bugliosi to bring them to justice, either that or the Hague

the belief that there is some governing body (the u.n., the world court, or batman and his friends at the justice league) that actually wishes to see justice done is nearly as pitiful as worrying that baby bush may not get his comeuppance. once the election this year is over, the democrats will have no further use for the attacks on bush and they'll need these new powers themselves. the calls for impeachment and the hand wringing over the occasional prisoner abuses will have done their job and the ensuing democratic victory will only mean a return to the status quo. the bug will have a new book to hawk about how he could have had bush and company convicted and government will have its finger in yet another pie. while you're being so concerned with imagined war crimes (too blind to realize that every war has been a crime), you'll completely ignore the fact that your heroes are merely weakening the country and selling its citizens down the river. your democrat controlled congress is no better (probably a bit worse) than the republicans they replaced, but their rhetoric hypnotized a befuddled electorate and i'm sure the honeymoon won't be completely over until our pockets have been thoroughly picked. it isn't bush that has been given these powers, but the incoming president that congress is reasonably sure will be one of them.

conspiracy is not needed when the masses are so willingly led.

Oh under, you are such a pessimist. Don't you know Obama is going to cure all the ills of this country, start walking on water and begint the transformation for the lions lying down with the sheep?

The Left is simply amazing in their ability to airbrush their own transgressions against liberty during Democrat administrations out of the history books. What's needed is for the leftists to do a little history checking on America's first fascist dictator (Woodrow Wilson), and the second, Franklin Roosevelt. Compared to these two, Bush is an amateur.

I hardly doubt that ... the illegitimate bush is a bigger war criminal and fascist than Johnson and the others combined ... but the dim leadership is seriously lacking ... Pelosi ... Ried ... all of them need to be removed from office and tried along with the rest of the war criminals ... :spew:
