alright so there are probably numberous of people who have asked these questions but hopefully there are a few nice people on here who will help a fellow bud lover.....:weed: haha..

well i want to grow outdoors just to save money for electricity, buying all the equipment etc... plus i was told you can get a higher yield outdoors??? well heres the questions.
1. can i germinate the seeds, then just stick em half inch in the ground and theyll grow???
2. should i water them or just let nature run its course? i was going to plant right beside a creek. good idea??
3. when should i plant the seeds and when should i harvest? (i know it varies)
4. will the plants start to flower on their own when fall starts to come around?

very obvious questions for most of you experts im sure.. i just want some knowledge for next outdoor season so i can grow a good amount of good quality stuff

2. should i water them or just let nature run its course? i was going to plant right beside a creek. good idea?? youll need to keep an eye on rain in your area, if it gos more than 5-7 days without a good rain, youll have to go out and water her
3. when should i plant the seeds and when should i harvest? (i know it varies) you should plant the seeds in erly spring and harvest mid fall
4. will the plants start to flower on their own when fall starts to come around? yes

alright... mostly common sense questions i know but i just want to make sure and not do anything wrong.... im probably gonna have a few different grow sites just to expierement but between say 30 plants. how much could i expect to harvest with regular conditions (nothing drastic), and a decently high yielding plant...???

if you plant early and have alot of females, you should expect a yield in the punds, but its way too vauge and brief a plan to be calculating yield.

make sure you map out your plants, and check them all periodically for males. as soon as you see those preflowers, kill the males. 1 could pollinate your whole crop

well i was going to buy a couple different types of top notch strains... somthing like W.W. or purple haze... and i was going to get feminized seeds so hopefully i dont have that problem... im still not sure if i can tell the difference between a male and female (plant)... but anyways.. other than that ill just collect some good looking seeds from bud i get and see if i can get any to sprout.

When they start to show their sex, you'll know for sure which are male and which are female.

Females are what we're used to seeing in magazines, etc, with the "hairy" flowers or "buds" all over them. Males look nothing like this, no buds - just little grape-looking clusters of pods that are filled with pollen.

Also 1 more question. dont hate on me either if im completely wrong.... but from my understanding male grow no buds... all they do is pollinate the female plants which does what exactly??? if all this does is makes the female grow seeds couldnt that be a good thing if say those seeds cost over $100 on the market? i mean you could just keep planting them seeds the females produce and not buy any? could also clone which im sure is what most people do so they dont have seedy buds.. ?

Exactly right. Refer to the drawing posted by Kaleo. Those two petioles (leaf stems) are the stems of a leaf. The internodes (where the caylx is) will eventually start growing bunches of caylxes all grouped together. That's your bud.
Those two hairs coming out of the calyx are for catching pollen. If pollenated, that caylx will develope a seed inside. Hence, a whole bunch of pollenated caylxes equals a bud full of seeds.
So long as you want seeds and don't mind picking them out of your buds, I say go for it. Grow seeds. We can always use more seeds. Once you get years and years of experience you can breed your own strains and sell them for like 12 for $100. Even seeds not grown under controlled conditions have value and get you free bud. I've used many.

Meh, screw seedy buds. Not only does letting the females get pollinated reduce the overall yield (because the buds are full of seeds) but it reduces the potency of the bud as well, because the plant is using all that energy making seeds instead of producing trichomes.

If you want seeds, you could easily pollinate a single branch so only that one branch will produce seedy buds, or take a clone and pollinate the clone AWAY from the rest of your lady plants =)

Taking clones is preferable to pollinating plants for seeds, since every clone you take is an exact genetic match to it's mother and guaranteed female =) With seeds, you lose about half of every crop you plant because they turn out male.

males pollinate females to produce seeds and reproduce

oh and even if you do get female seeds, theres a small chance og getting males and hermies, the only surefire way to get all females is with a clone

remember if you're planting by a creek there are lots of people who would use that area also. I would suggest moving your plants 20/30 feet away from the most traveled areas. unless you like being robbed or caught.
