Ya indica dominant strains. Sativa strains are more of the up high and can cause heart racing and anxiety.

use the search bar theres like 40 million billion trillion threads on this, however indica strains for sure, dig around in the search honestly ive written my "anxiety and weed" speech too damn much lol, cause i have exactly what you have.

1.Take a break
2.Only smoke indica
3. only smoke out of pipes, joints, or a controllable way, no bongs, gravity bongs, sinkers, vapes ect or else you will get too high and you will get anxiety attacks

I as well get small panic attacks these days but only if I have more than one or two tokes. I dont know if its age going up or my weed is just getting more potent. My friends dad quite because he said weed these days just makes him dummer :p. One more point, only smoke what you know is in your weed, lots of carcinogens going into weed by people trying to mess with mother nature. I like organic.

i think personally we treat weed like a fucking science lab now a days, to the point where everything is perfect conditions to the T while mother nature sometimes isnt sunny one day, is raining and windy the next and it leads to more potent wind than years ago which leads to some of us having anxiety attacks but thats just my two cents dont bite me for it ;)

Well, as we age we have more anxiety on a daily basis.
I would look for more indica (stoney strains) and just smoke 2 or 3 hits at a time.
Too much indica makes me nervous in a way much less smoking a sativa.

Sunni's #3 post is great advice.

Do you get pains in your chest when you are going through this? Lately I have been getting panic attacks if I smoke or do mdma sometimes. Like all of a sudden I think about this little twinge in my chest area. Then it is off to the races. I will try to calm down through breathing but even if i try my abdominal muscles are clenched and I think that is where the pain starts from. But, then i think i am going to die from a heart attack and it really sucks. It could last from anywhere between 5mins to 2 hours usually for me. I never had them before this year either.

Well put, we also grow specifically for ratios of cannabinoids, aiming for more "head high" even in our glorious Indicas.

As was stated, look for more Indica dominant strains or more pure Indica strains. I don't get anxiety attacks, but Sativa's head high really doesn't help with the anger, it gives me more energy and focus, so I stay away from them. The boss lady loves the head high, but it's gotta be tempered with a body high, or she gets anxiety attacks and it brings forward her depression. The answer to that is we mix a Sativa dominant with an Indica, in the grinder. She only smokes joints, because as Sunni said, she can control your "dosage" better. She takes a couple hits, lets me chill with the joint for a while, and if she needs a bit more, she'll come back, and have another hit or two.

Sup... I have gone through the ringer all the way--got to a point where it was either quit or face the storm, so I did, I kept getting high even though it was exacerbating my anxiety, but I chose to work with it. As a result I am now able to enjoy weed at pretty much any tolerance level--even when I have no tolerance and I'm practically tripping, I can work with it so much better now that I've chosen to face down the 'threat' rather than run from it.

The most encouraging thing I can point out is that life is all the same, in a way... all altered states are relatively similar to our normal state--anxiety attacks can happen when you're sober, just like you can have a good time when intoxicated on something that you think causes anxiety if you happen to catch yourself off guard with a positive experience to reinforce it.

Anyway--what I wanted to say is, some strains are definitely more exacerbating than others, but I don't think you have to stick to indicas. I find indicas sort of depressing... if you enjoy being stimulated but don't want anxiety it can be pretty hard to hit that middle spot... but there are definitely some sativa-dominant strains that will meet your needs... and there are others that will totally kick your ass if you're anxiety-prone... haha.

I switched to indicas to deal with anxiety but started getting bit from the other end by a lack of motivation and a depressed feeling. One of the main reasons I started smoking was because I like the stimulation. While it is that stimulation that eventually evoked an anxiety response, to take it away leaves me with very little reason to bother with smoking. I like being stoned occasionally, but I really prefer to stay as active as possible otherwise, simply because my body and mind always feel better after a day of activity or work rather than a day of sitting around. Granted, you do not have to sit around when stoned, but just saying, for me, it took away one of the main things that I was enjoying about weed to make that switch, so now I am seeking out anxiety-friendly sativas. (Although I've learned to work with anxiety well enough that most strains don't bother me, occasionally I get caught off-guard when my tolerance is low. Although I'm much more comfortable with anxiety than I was years ago, it is still wiser to avoid exacerbating the issue with particularly paranoia-inducing properties, imo)

homeopathy = placebo

its not proven to work.
But your argument is self defeating, because placebo can be a highly effective catalyst. ESPECIALLY something that works with the olfactory sense, which is closest to the memory center in the brain's physical layout. As a result, just smelling something can invoke strong emotional and memory responses that arise subconsciously.

Further, reality is the sum of one's perceptions as seen through the lens of one's chosen beliefs. Most things that claim to work on a conscious psychological level fundamentally require a degree of suspension of disbelief in order to be applied as their very nature is of rational logic that must be met with a willing and open mind. Anything that you would jump to call "placebo" responds to the same approach. But one must first be willing to see that their perceptions are a product of their beliefs before such an approach can be deemed rational.

The interesting thing about this given treatment is that it does provide a lot of olfactory stimulation and probably is working directly with the subconscious more prominently than a homeopathic treatment that does not work on the olfactory senses in this way. In this sense I would say this has the potential to work more effectively than other homeopathic treatments, as it does approach the olfactory center, which does have a notorious reputation for direct subconscious communication with the memory center and therefore has the potential for a stronger "psychoactive" effect.
