i like to consider myself a pretty good grower as the plant i have grown had normal childhoods with good leaves and pretty good flowering with no mistakes except for nirogen toxicity which i have learned my lesson from and which i had to and still do have to do a lot of flushing for. In relation to this does anybody care to share any information about watering and caring for the soil. if you water and it drains but for a while sits at the top like a pool what should i do? is it alright for the water that drips into the tray to come in contact with the bottom of the soil as it takes a while to dry? how should the pant be watered in general and what is the science that dictates this what conditions would it be a good idea to not put my plant in?

add perlite to your soil.
I water well i feel its dry, if its to cold in your room you might be overwatering.
I had a problem.. When the lights were on it was only 17c.. I got a fan speed controller for my 8 inch inline fan and now it gets nice a warm. I dont have central heating so i have to waste energy heating my room when the lights go off.
The rule of thumb for watering is 1 HALF inch dry on the top. Add the perlite to increase air content and drainage to your grow medium.
for now. water slow. let it drain before you drownd your plants.
A normal watering cycle for 2 gallons is 2-4 times a week. I feed once a week and water once.
Try Pro-mix. cultivate the surface of the soil. make it even so it waters even. dont let it get to dry.
