As stated above, Im wondering if their product is good. I'm looking into a 400w hps light kit from Apollo on Amazon. If anyone can tell me their reviews it would be very much appreciated!

I do not have it, but I'm wanting one and from all the reviews from amazon and people on forums I have come to learn 2 things. They are good lights if you get a newer ballast as the old ones are not rf shielded. Also don't get the cooltube unless you're ok with using some tools to finish it. Most people say the holes are off on some so it may take some ingenuity on your part. Overall its a good setup for the money but as always you get what you pay for

Raises hand, I have a 600...worth every penny of the $145 including shipping I paid from Amazon.

In fact, I might buy a second one to replace all the CFL's still being used to veg.

I have a 600 watt Apollo and very pleased with it. Especially with it coming with both bulbs reflector and ballast for $150 I couldn't say no. This is my first grow and into flowering now with it and my plants look amazing. If your looking for a decent quality at a good price don't hesitate to get one.

And that ratcheting lift system is so much easier than having to manually raise the fixture...great invention!.

Yes it is. Plus I think a timer comes with it. I ended up with a reflector hood tho not air cooled wish I had spent the extra money but I'm I'm tight closet space so a fan is running right on the fixture the full 12 hours with no problem of heat.

Got the 600w disable dual bulb came with yoyo hangers two bulbs ballast and a piece of complete shit timer. Bad ass for the 150$ ballast is near silent and extremely bright. Used about a month and no issues. Gr8 at setup for an intro system and get it from seller low baller he ships fast as discreet. Highly recommended!!

i run all apollo 3 1k's 2 600s. besides one light blowing up i havent had any issues with any of their gear.

i used the bulbs that came with it untill i upgraded to eyehortilux on my 1k's. i use the MH still in the veg room on the 600s.

they run quiet and smooth and the newer model reflectors they got are decent compared to the older ones they had a year ago. the lowballer guy that sells them on amazon seems to ship them pretty fast and replaces anything thats messed up upon arrival or shortly after quickly. they event sent me new stuff before i mailed back the bulbs.

the timers are on the low end of the budget but im still using 1 atm my digital timers that i get from sunleaves seem to burn up after 6 months so i use the cheap ones as backups. you can also build the kits basically because they sell each individual part on amazon also with or without certain bulbs and stuff.

I know of a few people who purchased a 400 watt set up and during their first grow all of them wished they had went with the 600watt. As for Apollo .... you get what you pay for. My first grow I purchased one of those complete sets from Amazon. 1000watt w/ cool tube from virtual sun. Now I'm 4 weeks into flower of my second grow and I'm using proper equipment. Solistek, raptor hood , hortlux bulb. Big difference! Personally I would save my money and purchase a better system. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hope this helps.

BTW...air cooled hoods run much cooler than cool tubes.
i personally think alot of that stuff is just paying for brand names(except for the light bulbs) because i love the equipment i got and most of it is the cheapest you can get. are those fancy hoods really worth the money?

That's what I'm wondering cause I just got a reflector hood. But where I'm growing now I have no way of running duct lines to it yet.

I just got one and it seems to work fine. Hopefully it stays that way and I get some good use out of it. I'd say get the cool tube for 20 bucks more it doesn't get too terribly hot in the closet but might as well.

have a 6 now for like a month but ran the 4 with not a single problem for almost a year...also bought a tent of theirs 4x4 for like a 100 bucks and am impressed. Considering the price minor leak fixes and i own 3 tents not one is flawless without minor adjustment but this one was close for the price.

first time i went with just a 400 gullwing which i think was 105 with free shipping but did end up getting a 600 cooltube as well and can say that the 600 with the cool tube runs about 4-5 degrees cooler then my 400 did without.

Currently own two sets of the 600 watters & 400 watters and has been running since the day they had arrived from Amazon. Had it for a great deal and been pleased since then.
