So it seems defoilating is pretty beneficial in indoor growing. How about outdoor?
DEFINITION OF DEFOLIATION.,
defoliate

[verb dee-foh-lee-eyt; adjective dee-foh-lee-it, -eyt]

verb (used with object), defoliated, defoliating.
1.
to strip (a tree, bush, etc.) of leaves.
2.
to destroy or cause widespread loss of leaves in (an areaof jungle, forest, etc.), as by using chemical sprays orincendiary bombs, in order to deprive enemy troops orguerrilla forces of concealment.
That means if u don't strip the plants of ALL foliage u just trimming and pruning., LETS NOT START THIS AGAIN!!! lol

Yes OP make it clear what defoliation means to you if different from the actual meaning posted above .....

I've gotten into debates about flushing only to find out the person was talking about giving just water with a bit of runoff for the last bit of flower .....that's not flushing ....flushing is running 3 times the amount of water according to pot size .....which only kills baby rhinos in Africa ....just an example

So please clarify what defoliation means to you OP ...

I've wasted so much time/effort trying to help people only to find out there throwing words around not even knowing what they actually mean ......guess that's my fault ..but it's also why I ask people to clarify there interpretation of what it means to them ......I like to keep the bottoms of my plants tidy and clean and lst them outdoors besides topping that's it .....but never would I pull huge amounts of healthy leafs because it seems like a good idea ....no thanks

Yeah thats right., And it calls lollipop. But defoliation is completely strip a plant of leaves which they are not doing and actually cause a fucking royal rumble.,. Lets get the terms straight., Trimming and pruning is one thing, defoliation its other and lollipop its another technique that u do around 3 week of flower. Lol

I don't lollipop or prune, just topping and lst. Works great.
Lollipop is actually really beneficial in the third week of flower., It redirects all the energy to the tops., U can strip those bottoms and do clones.

By defoliating, i mean taking hella fucking leaves off to expose bud sites that are covered in foliage. Not pruning, not lollipoping.
