Any danger for health ?

Just plugged in my 6 inch to check noise since I haven't run with it yet...it is definitely loud, still can easily say it won't hurt your ears lol..I wouldn't want to sleep next to it on but in a tent with the closet closed it wouldn't be unbearable..still I would set it to shut off at night was a liiittle louder than I thought it would be
You NEVER want to shut off your extraction fan at night. That's a recipe for bud rot during flowering.

During flowering you want as much air exchange as possible as well as air movement in the tent.

IMO constant low level noise is bad for the ears. High level noise (ie: high speed fans) is even worse. I have a constant ringing in my ears from running a noisy air conditioner in my room for about 9 months.

Also extraction fans spit out dust that arises from inside the tent with soil grows. Especially if you have lots of airflow in the tent as you should. The end of my extraction fan is dirty since I don't use a carbon filter. I wouldn't want that dirt dumping out in my bedroom. That's why I told him to use a carbon filter.

@kermit you say you love the smell? When I grew in my room, sans carbon filter, even with the air being dumped out into an adjacent room, every piece of clothing I owned reeked like bud. It was retarded. I put a shirt in a plastic bag and then put the plastic bag in my personal locker at the health club I belong to and a year later it still smelled like bud.

As far as co2 goes I've always read that it's not a good idea to use it in a bedroom in case there's some sort of accidental leak.

One more thing. If you use an HID light the heat it produces will make your room really hot. Like I said it's best to dump the air out into another room.

FWIW I've grown in my bedroom but b/c of the noise, the smell and the inconvenience I wouldn't really want to do it again unless I was desperate.

Ya dude haven't you ever seen that movie with Marky Mark where the plants were making people kill themselves. That was based on a true story I wouldn't sleep near my plants dude.

Thanks for the info guys, but my plans changed.

I will have acces to another room in my house. I will still use the Carbon filter to not make whole house smell.

During the flowering stage, should I make the high speed fan with the carbon filter work 24/7 or only the 12 hours when the lights are open ?
That way we could have no noise during night and then synchronize light and fan for 12 hours of light during the day.

Again, i'm still looking for a tent but now the dimensions will be 5' X 5' X 6'

any recommendations, deals, what is the average price ?

You either didn't read my post or you don't believe what I say.

You want your extraction to be 24/7. Unless of course you desire bud rot.

You need to be bringing air into the tent and pulling air out of the tent 24/7 during your intire grow but especially during flowering. You want to do this during veg to prevent powdery mildew and during flowering to prevent powdery mildew and bud rot.

You also want moderate air circulation in the tent during veg to make the stems and stalks strong and you want a lot of air circulation in the tent during flowering to prevent bud rot.

While we're at it I may as well tell you that when you harvest if you hang your plants in the tent you want a lot of air circulation at that point as well. As much air intake, air extraction and air circulation in the tent as you would have during flowering.

I feel the best thing for any grower to do is get a good book on cannabis cultivation, like ed rosenthal's 'growers handbook', and read it cover to cover before you order seeds, buy any equipment or plant your first seed. That way you can eliminate a lot of errors that are bound to happen. I wish I would have done it that way.

As long as you have a circulation fan inside the tent and proper humidity levels you can most definitely shut your exhaust off during lights out..i've NEVER had bud rot...to each his own I see your worry there but as long as you watch the variables that matter in mold growth and keep them in check you are fine running this way...the more I read of your post Edgar the more I disagree..everything you say sounds good in theory but that's exactly what it sounds like, your opinion comes from reading not experience, Ed Rosenthal book pshh... at least you didn't say George Cervantes though lmao

Ok thanks.

I miss understood what you had said because of my lack of understanding certain words, it all makes better sense now.

I will put my Intake high speed fan in the bottom of the tent and the extraction fan at the top of the tent, so heat goes out.

I will try hydroponic as shown in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTiwmiatH9g for 2 seeds

and make 3 other seeds in soil.

Can I use the same nutrient delivery system for my seeds in the soil ( I wouldnt put any fertilizier in the soil, just the nutrient solution from the pump )

You make a lot of assumptions and seem to think that you know everything and nobody else knows anthing.

Where do you come off saying my opinion come from reading not experience? You couldn't be more wrong. I just got that book two weeks ago as a gift. I've been growing for years without any books on the subject.

It's funny that you feel that rosenthal and cervantes don't know anything either. Maybe you should write your own book and teach a class on cannabis cultivation. Maybe some of the students will get bud rot.

The bottom line, agreed by most, is that since the plants are in a sealed tent during flowering, ALONG with air circulation in the tent, it's best to have a fresh air exchange 24/7 and not take the risk of bud rot. CAN you get away with it? Sure. It it worth the risk. NO.

Yes marijuana is a very, very, very dangerous and poisonous plant that releases air born toxins. That's why we pick it off the plant throw it in a bowl and inhale it.

Yeah, my bad. Marijuana is such a healthy product in fact, the inhalation of the combustion of it has no effect what so ever on your lungs and the alveolus within it, it would never dare to obstruct ANYTHING WHAT SO EVER.
There is also NO EVIDENCE of immediate, temporary changes in thoughts, perceptions and information processiing like short-term memory. With that said, why would anybody worry about long-term damage caused by breathing the plant 16-18 hours / day ?

Seriously, the question has already been answered.
This is the newbie section and I still feel like it was a legitmate question about health.

Please go play in the traffic.

If you actually go and do your research on marijuana then you would find that certain chemicals in the plant kill cancer, it opens up your blood vesicles, it is an anti seizure medication, it helps with depression, anxiety, nausea, it fucking helps a lot of people with autism........ You're not very smart to sit there and judge something without first doing your research.
this is aimed at your last post inno3d.
Marijuana is called MEDICAL MARIJUANA for a reason dude, it is a health product.
go learn about it some more before you pass judgement, please.
and karma will kick you in the ass if you keep telling people to go plat in traffic.

A good tent is going to be fairly airtightish. The room the tent is in is not going to be as high as co2 as the inside of the tent. The 1200 ppms or so of co2 is not enough to hurt a person anyway, you can easily make a small room go that high by yourself just from working out. And if you are running co2, you are not going to want a constant exhaust, as that will just waste co2.

My tent did give off some 'interesting' smells the first week or so, if you are worried about that I would recommend setting it up in another room well before you start growing.

EDIT: whoops a little late to this thread lol

Well, that's your opinion. You have obviously a very narrow view on the subject whereas I try to look at the overall picture ( That actually is a judgement on your person )

Marijuana is ONLY called medical, I forgot that part in my lack of research.
No downsides to smoke and play around marijuana, only upsides, like so many things in life.

I still love what kermint&Edgar does, and totally prefer this way to learn.

I still check everything I read on 12 another site by 12 different people, because of differing experiences and opinions.

You can not do more wrong than go head-on by a single advice or post without researching on the subject.
(That is more true than not considering recipes lol... the bad cakes all I made dam... and they publish it:wall:...)

The tent will be set in another room as I was able to move some stuff around and find enough space.
A friend of mine will hook me up with a CO² during the flowering stage, so i'm thinking that I will make the CO² run for about 30-45 minutes while stopping the overall intake/exhaust system for about 2 hours to let the plants absorb most of the CO² and then restart the intake/exhaust system for like 4 hours, Rinse and repeat ( using timers, obviously )
