I'm new at this. My nephew is kind of walking me through this. This is the grow room I am building in my basement. I am going to be grow with dirt. No hydro for me, way too much that can go wrong there. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!

Need more info to give you any input. Nice construction though. Great reflective material on the walls. Good ceiling heights for a grow. Can't tell which room is which or what the dimensions are. Don't know what equipment you are using either. Give us more info!!!

you got plenty of room, the light is the biggest expense at first, where do you get seeds or clones after it's all set up, lots of steps to set it up.
Subcool said on the weed nerd you have to have 3 rooms, one for starts, one for veg, one for flowering. unless you want to just grow one crop, you would be making clones or starting seeds , simultaneously as you veg the first crop (sea of green) or as you start flowering.
soil is good for making clones but it gets complicated getting the irrigation water in and draining it out somewhere. you can buy an expensive hydro table or make one but a flood and drain setup is good for plants in soil pots since you can move them around. rubbermaids or storage tubs are an alternative but with any nutrient reservoir you also will need an air pump , air stone and tubing, probably a fountain pump and hose too

I said the same thing about hydro when I first started out... then I figured out why God put dirt outside and why my mother insisted it not be brought inside!! Everything looks great, just make sure you figure out how to exchange the air in the room and most importantly, to remove the stink before you vent outside.

The first picture is a hallway with a small workroom at the end. It has a deep sink. The veg and flower rooms are off of the hall. The second picture is the wall that sections the grow area off from the rest of the basement. I live in a Medical Law state. It has to be locked up. The third picture is the flower room 13 x 15 with ten foot ceiling. The fourth picture is my veg room. It's 8 x 13 ten foot ceiling. I'm still working out the details about seed and cloning area. I do have that table in the veg room. I'm thinking about utilizing it with the cloning and seeds with some creative planning. I have three 1000 watt hood. Was going to put one in veg and two in flower. I can vent outside through the back wall. I haven't bought my fans and scrubbers yet. Still doing some research. I don't have to worry about my Mom getting mad about the dirt. I am the Mom! LOL!!

I'm limited to 24 by law unless somebody else with a card wants me to grow for them. As it stands I was thinking doing the 24 on a perpetual grow. I have seeds for heavy duty fruity (tall), querkle (short, medium) and hog (tall). I don't have a preference of which I'm starting.

I think you have plenty of room to do a perpetual. Basically all you will need is 12 plants in your flower room. You could grow some real monsters with that 13x15 space. I would LST and top them. Doing a SCROG might not work out in your situation but the other 2 techniques would give you really bushy plants.

Hey Charming. I'd set it up something like this. I assumed you were going to have 1 or 2 moms to take clones from and that you weren't going to count those toward your 24. I didn't know if you were going to have a/c or dehumidifiers in the rooms so I didn't add them. You've got plenty of room and ceiling height to grow some really nice plants. Good luck.

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Thanks for the drawing! It looks better than my chicken scratch. I want to make sure I get good scrubbers. I don't want the whole house smelling to high hell. I'm excited to get started on growing. Hopefully I will get that drywall finished this weekend. Stuff sure makes a mess. Pulling wire for the hoods. Hopefully the rooms will be ready the end of next week.

Is your room going to be completely sealed? Do you have A/C? If so you should really consider running co2.

Not completely sealed. The duct work for the entire house runs through the area. I am not going to box it off. I will be able to pull air from between the ducts into the area that way. The area also stays at 55 degrees winter or summer without heat or air. The area also has it's own heat and air.

If it has its own heat and a/c you should just seal off the room and run co2 with a controller. It will cost about $400I to set up and will protect you from unwanted bugs and things getting in your room. You can also run higher temps running co2 so you won't be using as much AC. Get a couple 6" inline fans with carbon filters and hang one on the cieling and out the other one in the floor on the opposite side of the room. This will keep the air fresh in your room and keep the smell pretty much vanish!

The smell is a big concern. I will be legal but it doesn't mean I want to smell it. I sure don't want anybody in my neighborhood knowing it either. It's not the cops that worry me, it's the thieving assholes in the area. They would steal my husband's hole riddled, skid marked underwear if they thought they could make money off of them. I want this totally on the down low.

You'll only have to worry about the odor in your flower room. With a room that size a 3' Can Filter strapped to the ceiling that recirculates the air will be just fine. As for the veg room just try and bring fresh air in there via passive intakes. If you seal your hoods and use insulated ducting with dryer vent on the outside then you won't have to worry about smell there.
