I have yet to meet anyone here that is flowering with LEDS and i'd love to. I am thinking about making a run at an LED setup to try it out on a small grow of 4 plants.

Just beginning my research and thought it would be cool to hook up with someone local who has experience.

I did one run before turning on my hps, I got around 0.8 g per watt, however the light was not working at full capacity and I had to exchange it after the grow. My dad just pulled 10 oz off of 4 plants using the same type of panel.

I have never tried the kessil lights so I can't comment on them. We have been using the stealth grow panels, the SG602's. Nice lights but very expensive. We do really like the veg light it works beautifully.

thanks plant.

id be curious to know what happens if while flowering with an LED if you added in a few CFLS. If that would increase yield much.

In my current flower room I have 2 4x4 flowering areas. Each of these has a stealth grow SG602 panel and a 600 watt HPS, I'm 2 weeks away from harvest and things look great. CFL's would help but feel are unnecessary as long as your wattage is there. My panels only put out around 300 watts and perform About on par with a 400 hps but the trichome formation is increased. If I could get 900 actual watts of led power I wouldn't use the hps but that does not fit my budget. Each of these 300 watt panels go for around $1500.

Lots of people use them without issue. Just remember to look at actual current draw, take that times .75 grams and that should be close to your harvest weight with a typical 4 week veg. You could get more or less depending on a million different things but I would use that number to figure out what size panel will meet your needs. Also 3 watt chips are what most manufacturer's are using right now which are good for plants up to about 3 feet.

I just ordered a blackstar 500 today I have done hours and hours of research and after filtering through the bullshit from salesman and what not I believe it will be a good buy although I don't believe they will perform as well as the dealer will tell you but if I can get .75g per watt I'm happy that would be half pound plenty for me. Although from my research draw wattage doesn't always mean more light with leds some of the chinese junk is garbage.

Has anyone checked out or heard anything good about the magnum 357 led light? I was going to go this route, but decided not to do that for my first upcoming grow.

Yeah man start off with a HPS, first couple of grows will make you go crazy starting off LED's would probably do more damage than good learn the basics and how to read your plants LED's are too new it takes some growing knowledge to come out successful with LED.

Yeah, I don't think I could agree more with you. I am just getting a grow tent from HTG with a 600w agromax dual arc. Not to go off topic but do you think the dual arc is a good choice? I keep wondering if I should do all HPS, dual arc, or just get a MH for veg and a HPS for flower. Thanks in advance.

if you are getting a 4x4 tent i highly advise in getting a 1000 instead of a 600. a 600 is barely enough light for 4x4 it puts out about 90,000 lumen and over 16 sq ft thats only 5625 lumen/sq ft. the sun gives about 10,000 lumen /sq ft which is right where you want to be. get a 3x3 with a 600 (10,000 lumen/ sq ft) or a 1000 with a 4x4.

I was thinking about a 1000w but I was worried that heat would become a big issue. I don't want to have to get a/c for the tent..

That is the kit that I was planning on getting (with upgrades though) Do you think heat will be a big issue with the 1000w light in that size tent? Thanks again
