Anybodies plant ever make clear sap?

Last night while trimming I noticed a few bud have some sort of clear sap on the stem under the buds. I have never seen this. It looks perfectly clear, is sticky and when under a magnifier doesn't look like much. It reminds me of a drop of hot glue only perfectly clear. I put a few drops to dry, I want to smell it when my finger are not already stinky. I have heard of buds dripping resin but never like this. Anyone have any idea what it is?

That would be water being moved within the stems carrying all the necessary nutes and such to the flowers.

Wow. When you trim the plant, there is still water within the bud that seeps out just like if you cut a branch of a tree or other plant. Considering it is very starchy, that would make its consistency gel like so to speak.

I don't see any aphids, or any signs of them. Also the sap is not coming from where I cut. It is just on random spot on the stem and under the buds. The little bit I dried stayed goeey. The inner stoner says smoke it? The inner gardener just wants to know why it is there.

more than likley its some sweat from the plant probably toxic so it excreted it, probably cant hurt you. i know its not thick enough to be sap, i will feel gel like but as said before thats from the starches. another thing it coulds be a bug look for a tiny hole something could have crawled in there.. i have yet to see a sap like substance come out of my plant(besides from a wound) but i am sure it is possible its just unusual could be toxic like i said from bacterial infection or virus, but like i also said probably not harmful to you, may not even be harmful to the plant.

I had some Sputnik that had a purplish colored sap in the center of certain buds. I'd cut it open and there would be a pocket in there with sappy goo.

I remember you saying that, this is inside the space crush. If i gather a bunch do you want to smoke it? Isn't sputnik related to apollo 13? It would make me feel just a little better if it were genetic. Space crush is supposed to be Apollo 13 x Grape crush.

I think you are OK, I get this sometimes on my own plants... I believe it's sap. I try to duplicate this but not always successful ... I've smoked it .. it tastes just fine and was normally quite stony. I keep the rh in my room VERY VERY low during flower... something like 30% this might be the reason I get sap bubbles now and then.

Sure, I'd smoke that. Yeah, sputnik 2 was a13 x sputnik 1 (a13x black russian).

A couple of years back one of my outdoor plants was producing sap, but not in the buds, on the trunk and branches, it get's quite cold in Northern Europe around October so I put it down to that. Not sure if its the same thing. Anyway, here's a pic, you can also see where there is sap on the trunk that has hardened.

Peace, DST

oh, and that branch was being supported by the twine btw..

The larger buds on these need to be tied right up next to the cola or it will try to harvest itself. Not to mention these went through a move and there climate has been all over the place so I'm sure that helped. I'm glad its not bug shit or something worse!

I'm having the same issue Big...two plants of different strains growing indoors, the one started getting this oily sheen on the leaves plus these specs of like dandruff type stuff...it looks like light coloured weiners under the pocket scope. Weirdest thing...I put the one outside 5 weeks into flower, nice plant...until this happened. I flushed it (I know, bad idea 5 weeks into flower, but?), then it rained for three days...killed it. Now, the other plant has greasy leaves and the specs of whatever...nobody knows WTF it is. After this plant is done, if it even lives to finish a few more weeks, and I just kight have to disinfect my little basement grow space. One thing after another...a couple years back, I had a plant decided to be a male. I was going to keep it on the other side of the yard, ten wait until it had a zillion pollen balls on it and keep it for an experiment. I was going to wait until about 5 days before harvest, and douse it with pollen...apparently makes her go into overdrive producing THC filled seed husks but not yet a seed. Well that didn't happen, because it fertilized everything...except one that wasn't ready yet. (Than God!)
Ya guys & gals, unless you know what you're doing as far as producing seeds rather than buds with no seeds, as soon as you see it's a male plant...KILL IT ON SIGHT. Don't even think about keeping it around, like the two really nice plants I had in veg outside growing early this summer...beauty plants I started inside during the winter, bushy as hell, a hundred colas (well, lots)...MALES. Usually males are tall and spindly, but not these assholes. My wife kept saying "Get rid of that male plant Babe...remember what happened last time you kept a male plant around here"
I read this infamous gardener/botanist, she said, "You can't call yourself a true gardener until you've killed at least a thousand plants."
