Anybody have experience using RED cfl's?

What's good fellow rollers of the trade.. Just wondering.. I have a CFL grow going, i'm already flowering, and i wanted to know since the plant needs more of a red spectrum for flowering, would an extra RED cfl help my grow? I have a red cfl lying around and it's an extra 13 watts i can add to a bud site or 2..

if by red you mean warm white (2700K) CFLs, then yes. I use 5000K (kinda red) and 6500K (blue) bulbs to veg. When I flower I use higher wattage 2700Ks (very red) and 5000K bulbs.

Experiment done. COLORED light bulbs don't much work for growing. I found out 13w red and/or blue colored bulbs only put out about 180 lumens, as opposed to the 900 lumens a regular 13w CFL puts out. So, pretty much the only use for colored bulbs would be green ones to be able to look at your plants in the dark photoperiod.
