anyone cloned from Serious Seeds Chronic before?

i read it's very good genetics, but has a tendency to pole as a sativa would, and not vegetate its branches much about. I also read that it doesn't react well to topping. my questions are:

1. would it be hard to clone from this one? how long would one have to veg, in order to get an acceptable clone off a branch that's not bottom?
2. would horizontal growing (LST - vert scrog) be good with it? perhaps help with branching?

thanks!

come on, someone must know

please advise, even your knowledge is of another strain that also doesn't branch much

It takes some patience in order to clone from seed as they don't branch very much. Once it's cloned (and it tends to root easily), I've found that this particular strain wants to flower under 24hours of light so finding a keeper that doesn't want to auto-flower on you is difficult. It does yield very well and I found that my most sativa dominant pheno was the most interesting smoke of the bunch. Top quality but watch for the autoflowering tendencies.

Here is a shot of one of the ladies:

Some dried product of my sativa-dominant pheno that was kept as a mom:

great info! thanks a lot

so really, cloning makes it autoflower? that's strange! well...

A clone and the mom are the same age. It's not that cloning makes it autoflower, it's that the moms were flowered before they could autoflower.

i'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that the strain itself tends to auto? that if I veg it for say, 2 months, both the clone and its mother plant will start to flower even under 24h?

or you are saying that I should only flower from a vegging mom? I thought that was granted

Yes. If you're still confused, i can take a pic of one of my chronic clones that's never seen 12 hours of dark.

ive grown chronic & cloned it and topped it without trouble, it does ramificate rather slowly & if you top yu will get less preoducion, but its weed anyways! cannabis is increadibly easy to clone and grow, thats why its called weed man. its hard also becouse the nots are intercalated & not in the same place, but autoflowering is impossible men

clones are better mothers, its easier to manipulate & they ramificate more, also seeds plants give more yield

wow weird shit man, was this in 18/6? did it happened to all the phenotypes? o0
At the most, it's 20/4 but probably 22/2. I got 8 out of 11 females I believe and this happened to 2 of my females. It's sort of happening to my favorite pheno and she cloned just fine, we'll see how things go when they hit the hydro trays. The above plant however is a fantastic plant so I'm definitely disappointed that keeping her is not even an option.

well, sometimes genes get fucked. i hope i don't get that. already got the seeds, starting my batch in a few weeks.

yeah talk to serious seed, send them an e-mail, this is one of the best banks, this must not happen man.

I don't fault serious seeds in the least. My experience with them in regards to strain stability, overall quality and female:male ratios is second to none. I even have a wonderful male I've been breeding with and based on the results so far, he's got some stellar genes.
