Anyone do Ebb/flow orchids?

Anyone do ebb/flow orchids?

Wondering what you people do for medium:
lava rock? hydroton? peat moss? perlite? gravel?

And what you use for lighting:
Will t5s or t8s work? Do you really need HID? outdoors?

And what are your thoughts on running a bunch of species in a single flood table. Orchid people on other forums seem to avoid using a common res in fear of spreading pathogens. The same applies to MJ, but as long as you keep things under control, pythium won't take over. Are orchids any different?
