Half of Michigan's growers have mites , its sad but clones are the biggest reason why ... Many pass them around knowingly and could care less and all to often people think they have them under control and off goes another infested clone from a garden infested once again in the early stage ....

Visiting infested Gardens is also another method of infestation , if you go to a garden thats infested knowingly then you are just asking for it anyway.. If I find my way into one by accident I surely wont be going into my home without some serious precautions ..

To have Spider Mites under control is a joke , you either destroy them completely or its game on once more .. 9 out of ten people think the little fecks have left after using whatever spray they choose . 9 out of ten times the mite egg survives or the persistent female with fertile eggs ..

Take the time to quarantine any and all clones and chances are you wont have Spider Mites indoors .. It only takes a few weeks and a box with a compact florescent light .. Youll be able to avoid other issues as well like P.M. , thrips and more ............

yes they are vicious . mine really exploded when my AC broke down.it only took 3 days before they were out of control . the warmer temperatures make them explode in numbers twice is fast. I had no idea I even had them until this happened.. I keep my garden ultra clean now . I make sure to change my clothes shoes and anything that I wore out side before I go in there . I am also in basement so I don't really think it matters about the location. once they get in there in.

This isn't a jinx because I don't believe in that shit but trust me, anyone who grows long enough is going to get them sooner or later. Be prepared, I've had a gallon of Mitey Wash sitting on my shelf for almost a year now.

One of the most important things you can do is to spend the time every couple days to really examine your garden looking for signs of insect damage. You can have mites for weeks before you'll ever see any big signs of damage unless you really get face to face with your plants. Look for tiny little light colored specks on the top of the leaves, it can almost look like a small amount of dust at first glance. The mites themselves will usually be hanging out on the underside of the leaves about 75% of the times, this is where they lay their eggs. The sooner you identify mites in your garden the easier it will be to kill them.

This is what you're looking for...
I went 7 years without so much as anything no mites no aphids nothing. Now I have been in a back and forth for the last year with mites. I'm 99.9% sure they some in with the fucking cats. Them little fuckers wait til I'm in the room and come in a chomp leaves while I'm not looking, then those leaves show signs of mites in a few days and I'm washing and azamaxin and shit. I'd put the cats in a deep fucking hole if not for my wife. in a decade when natural causes kill the pricks off I will see if my hunch is right. I have convinced her to rid the house of stinking vectors that shit in boxes once these die naturally; that doesn't even sound like a good idea to have around does it? I hate cats only slightly less than mites.

Belle's son kept bitching that I should keep girlfriend out of basement. Mites or not, I have had much better results keeping Son of Belle out of basement. (Think he carries cockroaches and leeches, lol).
That would suck if we need to spray her down with garden hose, and tape garbage bags to her every time we go to work. lmao. photo (7).jpg

A few weeks back I was doing my evening duties of feeds/waters/cleaning up dead leaves, when I noticed a single leaf on my DJ Short Blueberry had quite a few mites. Checked it under my scope and it freaked me out to see the little crawly guys in my scope. I actually threw the leaf down as if it were going to bite me lol Anyhow, I checked every plant in the garden and the BB was the only one with mites. I shut all the fans off, carefully took the sick plant outdoors in the sun and hit it with Sierra's SNS spray (shits awesome) and grabbed a jug of mighty wash from the hydro shop. It's now been about 3 weeks and I haven't seen any action in the indoor or out. Luckily temperatures are dipping low enough to damn near bring the little bastards screeching to a halt. Haven't seen any new action :D Heres hoping things stay clean because it almost seems to good to be true but low temps really seem to be doing the trick. My indoor gets down to about 64 degrees every night.

clones are way more seceptable to mites and other shit. I went many years growing only seeds found in bags without any trouble aside from inconsistant plants with poor genes. bought some seeds online and started cloning and got way better weed and way more problems, mites among them.

I've noticed there are certain varieties that mites just LOVE to live and munch on, then there are others that it seems they just completely turn their little micro-noses away from. I think mites have a discerning taste in cannabis as would any connosuer :P

have heard blueberry is mite candy, my bubblegum was a magnet like that. catching ground zero, at the exact plant the mite(s) attempt to populate is key. having veg at waist or eye level w daily inspections helps. bikini wax them girls dwn low to avoid safe harbor for buggers. any questionable leaf will get removed from garden and viewed under scope... must remove any contamination and quarantine affected. prevention and treatment, jabba, jabba - I love frying them suckers with iso alcohol. dilute w 1/3 water soak plant w spray and critters are immediately neutralized.. not so sure about the eggs.

None of the commercial brands work, the best they can do is slow them down and help them to build a stronger immunity to produces.
I ended up dealing with an under the counter treatment they call Doominator, and I doubt it's the real name, but it worked the first application and only had them return once in the last year and again, a single treatment eliminated them. In less then a year I spent over a grand treating them with everything from mighty wash, liquid ladybug neem oil, azomax, pest strips and fogers I even did the co'2 poisoning plus all the time and effort and it ended up costing me $35 and single treatment to get rid of them.

I know avid and forbid 4f are supposed to works really well. you can order it on ebay but it is not legal here in Michigan to sell. Both very strong miticides.

How terrible of you to recommend that poison shit

The Taste of The Buds are Important and residual Carcinogens are quite Unhealthy.AVID is a Carcinogen and I will say it again!
I can't Believe some Idiot is Telling Growers to Spray The Plants with AVID.
While I personally agree you are an idiot for even mentioning that shit here, those were not my words, but they were the words of an Oaksterdam cannabis cultivation guru. So don't listen to me folks, find out for yourself, and please for the sake of cannabis and everyone involved in using it, please stay the fuck away from this shit. Just play fair and fight the fuckers the way you should.

Idc what you guys say, Avid and Forbid are fine in early veg; and should be used if you have a infestation.

Cut all moms, dip fresh cuttings in a mixture of water and pesticide, then place in cubes and wait for roots; when they root, do one more dip in neem or volck, and while this process is taking place clean and bomb ur room.... Clean a few times, just to play it safe... I srubbed everything with bleach: Lights, fans, walls, floors, etc.... Nothing s hould be flowering during this time also

Worked for me haven't seen mites in 15-months....

When doing this take all proper precautions, such as gloves (rated for chemical handling), respirator, and even a hvac or suite made for the purpose also.... Even more so if u attempt to spray it, then the suit is VERY neccesary.

Decades of smoking cartel pot has made me passionate about this specific topic. You're right, I was a bit harsh but if I found out somebody I know, knowingly gave me pot with AVID used on it, I would literally kick their ass. We're trying to fight cancer with these meds, not cause more. How the fuck can you spray that shit on your plants and still call it "meds" is beyond me.

I do apologize for name calling, I never do it because I know it helps nothing, only makes shit worse. I let my emotions dictate my response just then. Sorry.

I agree Silus, I don't want to ingest the shit either. Unfortunately not everyone has patients and peoples health in mind, just the almighty dollar.
