What would you DO to make it better?? Explain... I am listening bro
I honestly don't know how to run something like that but I have been to NORML meetings back east and it was a much better group. People didn't bitch about the people running it and they did things other than sit at a bar for an hour.

Bbq's and ralleys are a couple this phx norml doesn't do. phx norml really dosnt have a reason to meet other than networking cause they don't do anything

I would try to have weekly bbqs or something similer at a park get people closer together as well as maybe a create a NORML volonteer group to have possitive presents in the community (there is no present now) would get people their membership cards so the guy in the back can not be so pissed about it.lol. I always thought part of it was to show america that good, normal family people enjoy marijuana and they are still very good people in life..

I have been wanting to go to a norml meeting, but now that you say Rain is in charge I will pass, she is crazy and I cant stand to be around her.

Maybe we need to start our own organization to pick up norml's slack.

as far as i have heard the az norml is on the mmj money dick (@phxfire not to be confused with donkey dick ) and is not getting off soon. as far as i understand they have yet to address the 25 mile rule or anything of the sorts. if i am incorrect then someone please set the record straight but imo az norml is just another lobbying group for the special interests who want to open up dispensaries and monopolize the production and distribution. where were they when az legislature refused to hear the proposed legislation to decriminalize marijuana possession last year? that bill did not even make it to the floor for debate. isnt that their fucking job to push these kind of law reforms through?

i am not really aware of what they are actually doing (if anything at all) but if i was the head i would promote a more patient oriented approach. community outreach would be my number 1 priority. i like the ideas of infoseek. mmj in AZ is legal and norml should be the one telling everyone and pushing the message. where is their awareness campaign? where is their presence at ASU, U of A, or NAU? what other organizations have they partnered up with? i would be seeking out similar organizations with similar goals for patients and consumers in mind rather than those who wish to prey upon our community. i would start a dialogue with local politicians and develop relationships with state officials. over all i would reorient the focus to patients and community rather than mmj businesses. if we humanize the campaign you are more likely to gain support.

Iv been to a few meetings with the phx norml and honestly I don't really like the people who run it. Nice people but rain and kathy kinda suck in the sense that they are very "clicky" seeming.

Hate to say it like this but I really hate when women are in charge of stuff like this cause I think they fuck it up for everyone cause they think they are special or some shit.

Anyone else think phx norml is a joke?

I'm not trying to be personal to kathy or rain just saing I don't like how they run it over there at all

Any reason in particular you dont like them? clicky seeming is not much to make a decision on.

Men behave the same way when put in positions of power. Its one reason goverment is so messed up.

We should be getting people together, especially patients and focusing on the complete legalization of MJ. we should be having rallies and protests to get our message out into the public forum. As of Oct 27th there are 14,852 approved medical marijuana patients in this state; we should be able to get a few hundred people down to the state capital to protest for our rights. I want to see a more proactive group that actually has a presence in this state

Very solid points man...

I agree it seems the BIG talk is about the dispensaries and NOT what it will do for the patients... There are by FAR more DOWNS than UPS if the dispensaries open in AZ if the current 25 mile rule applies... Most patients that ARE in compliance with Arizona Medical Marijuana Act over NIGHT will NOT be in compliance the day dispensaries OPEN within 25 miles of their residence... Yes you are right there is NO patient presence with the AZ NORML organization and there should be...

If a dispensary is to open in Arizona Patients should have the right to CHOOSE wheather they want to go to a dispensary or would like to cultivate for themselves. A big concern would be the cost patients would INCUR due to the 25 mile rule... Think about all the folks that PURCHASED equipment and NOW can NOT cultivate the day a dispensary opens... CRAZY... Or the folks that CAN NOT afford the HIGH prices that the Dispensaries are likely to want....

Reform of the Az MMJ Act would be the only bipartisan solution to the problem

Very few patients can afford to pay $400 an oz for medication. I think most would just go back to paying their $10 per month for Vicodin or whatever other med's they were on. without insurance it could be a toss up but most with insurance would go back to their pharmacies.

Never went just heard from folks how bad they are...

What would motivate folks to attend?

well i guess it is not right to criticize something i have not experienced but if they were doing a great job i think we all would have heard about it.

I am 99.999% sure that it is not over night but when you have to renew your card.
I have looked a lot into it and have been planning on renewing my card right before they open :D

nice point. this is true. should it come to that i planned on doing the same. but still that would only be a stop gap to the inevitable revocation of cultivation rights.
