Anyone ever used "Sweet?"

So i got this stuff from my brother called sweet, it says you add it in during the final weeks of flowering, and its supposed to make your bud have an amazing taste. Anyone ever use it, I dont want to put it in mine, until im sure its any good cuz ive never heard of it till now.

Thanks

I personally never used that, but I have used molasses & sweet leaf obviously a sweetener. "sweet" is basically the same thing so it's good to use. If you're using hydroponics ..it might not be the best as it tends to clog up air stones, and pumps ...but I find it to be useful as I've seen very noticeable size difference in bud formation using molasses. I also find that yes the sweetener does bring out the nice oily aroma, and flavor. I definitely recommend using it if not just to experiment and see for yourself.

Take Care =)

Ok first off when using molasses or any other kind of "sweetner" it doesn't makie it taste better or smell better because sugar is being added to your bud, thats actually impossible since the molecules are to big to make it through the roots. Sweetners simply add carbohydrates to the soil for microorganisms to feed on and break down into nutrients which will in turn make your plant healthier and more capable of producing its own sugars and resins which make your bud more enjoyable.

So your not smoking sugar or anything crazy like that. Your just improving the root environment which makes your plant stronger and more potent.

If your are going to use this product I'd recommend adding microrhizae or other beneficial bacteria to your soil so that they can feed off the sweet and greatly improve root conditions.

Anyhoo, I got some other threads to post on, hope that helped.

Peace

You can use SWEET in hydro with no problems. Not sure were "gitarrengene" got that it clogs up pumps and air stones. I've used it for almost a year with NO problems what so ever.

taylorboy22 is right (sorry bpout your town with the meth and oil rigs) texas or barstow? yeah sugar cant be absorbed directly by the roots, it just helps feed the micros and they feed your plant so keep ypur micros feed or your plant will start to look sad and finish early and never reach its full potential.

I've heard bad reviews about sweet, sweet leaf, bud candy all the flavoring stuff. Leaves a black ash after smoked. Most people say it does affect flavor, but on good strains it degrades the flavor.

ok when useing fox farm as the soil gets older in flower say 6 to 8 weeks in flower. Dose toxicty in the soil get higher, so less nutes it needs is this right, because of the nutes already in it from the factory? Thats what the guy at the hydro store told me today, any one ?

Fox farms is good stuff Ive never personally used it but have seen some peoples harvs that used it. I do however use sweet. It works pretty good. Ive heard flora nectar works real well and so does molasses but if your not in coco or soil I would shy away from molasses and use the sweet. Anyways, The fox farms package is a lot of nutes to be feeding in playing mad scientist trying to get all those nutes in the water and then to PH but hey.. Its your time and if done properly you should be on your way to a good harv. Wish ya luck girli bongsmilie :peace:

I use sweet from veg till flower, I also use gh flora nectar. would never not use it.
I am trying Flora Nectar right now, doing an ebb and flow grow. I have about 2 weeks left before harvest but the thing I am concerned about is thatthe Flora Nectar seems to be fermenting in my res. Could this be a problem? I do have an airstone that I leave running during the day and it's off at night, should I have something in the res recirculating full time? For now I am going to do a res change and cut the nectar back to half strength, hopefully that will slow the fermenting a bit..

I'm currently using Botanicare Sweet and have used GH Flora Nectar. The flavor does not carry over to the dry product, but is very noticeable while flowering. The carbohydrates in the products include cane sugar, molasses, etc, which is similar to the blackstrap molasses that people use in their grows. It's to feed the micro-organisms in the plant which increases yield and potency.

Yes. What is the temp of the rez water? Shouldn't be above 70 F or bad things will definately grow in it.

Leave the air pump on 24/7.

Thanks,
Could be the temp, I know the heater is all of the way down and I'll check the temp and I also have a different heater I'll swap it with.

Is the water cold?
What is the temp of it now.
If it between 60 and 70 F it's ok.

Through the whole grow it has been warm, not soup warm, just comfortable. I haven't used a thermometer on it so I can only assume it was not a bad temp by the growth. Here's a pic from 2 days ago.
