Title says most of it. Just wondering how long it takes.

Also, if someone has some, are they willing to sell a plant or cutting to me? From what I hear an artichoke takes 2 years to reach maturity.

God damn, i am sad to hear this. I wanted to grow some as well. But two years, shit man. I will trade plant clones for some clones of artichoke shit no doubt.

From what I hear, first year you get nothing, second year you get something, but it doesn't really make it worth your time till the third year.

i tried in the desert it's to hot here the plant just crokes

my friend in washington grew them though, you need a real loose soil about two feet square by two feet deep hole.the first year you get a little one then the next year after the roots get bigger you get like four off one plant.

they sell the plant at ace hardware here near arizona,in the spring.for like five dollars.

Little trick that works with just about all plants... slip in extra dark/shade time...

This forces the roots to expand to compensate for the reduced photosynthesis.

Like after repotting a plant.. you keep it in the shade for a few days.

I started 6 artichokes from seed about two months ago. Two went into coco, two into soil, and one into hydroton. Amazing how the coco ones are ass loads bigger than their competitors.
