I might even remodel the basement and get some AC running down there, bring the plants out of the small room and let them really do their thing under more light/space

Those beneficials are great! no they're fantastic. i used roots organics organismsxl in my coco and the shit works wonders man, i used mine when they were 3 weeks into veg and they should re colonize the entire grow so just one application is sufficient.

thanks buddie ..just to let you know the intake ducting will be run right up to the slightly ajar window which will constanly feed fresh air to the grow tent and the out take will also run straight out through the rhino filter and outside as well so ventilation is sorted there ... he will enquire more about the co2.. now with your experience do you think 4 plants on the 4 pot wilma system under 1x 600 lamp sufficient (4 cuttings) to get in the region of .75-1gr per 1 watt or you would need more plants under that 600 watt light ...personally i would think .75 a gramm is a fairly decent number to go for if you have 2400 watts in the tent so thats 50 ounces in total....pleasure chatting with ya m8 :hump:

I just thought I would mention this because its pretty cool... it's unlikely that it will apply to your friend but I'll mention it anyways...

If he happends to be growing in a basement near the hot water heater and it happens to be gas powered... all he will need to maintain CO2 enrichment is a controller. Unscrew the vent hood from the top of the heater and the hot exhaust will vent right into the basement(exactly like a CO2 burner), then plug the heater into a controller so it will come on only when the CO2 levels drop. 1200ppm from what I've been reading is the ideal, and 1500ppm is actually detrimental to the plants(causes extra production of ethelyne the same gas bananas produce), and more expensive.
That is of course only if your friend doesn't use too much hot water, or doesn't mind a cold shower now and then. It's an efficient alternative to the expensive burners. Make sure he seals the basement well first, and he'll need a dehumidifier.

Are you describing the excellofizz CO2 pucks? those pucks you put ina bucket of water and they bubble out CO2 ?
Honestly I wouldnt bother with those because CO2 needs to be controlled accurately to get the benefits.
Firstly you need to increase your temperature from normal limits to boost the plants metabolism.
If you don't do that while increasing CO2 your just wasting it.
The problem is then that unless you actually know you have your CO2 level within the proper enriched range than you can't raise the temperature without possibly cooking your plants. The CO2 allows the plants to partially close their stomata which enables them to handle higher temperature. Otherwise they will lose too much moisture too quickly.

If your friend isnt using proper regulated CO2 he can't count on it actually being significantly elevated, and he should be venting his exhaust to the outdoors as frequently as possible to maintain aptmospheric levels of CO2. Which means any added CO2 will be vented away and lost

So no, I don't think it is a worthwhile investment

BTW is CO2 levels are not properly controlled and exceed 2000ppm, it can severely reduce yields

I guess I should point out I'm still in my first grow eh, so not much "experience" and I cant tell you what to expect from yield other than a guess based on what I've seen other people yielding

If the only difference with this grow to his last grow is that this time around he will be in a tent then the yield will be just about the exact same

Fuckin cool man.

There is a method of self pollinating a female plant you should look into if you want to keep her genetics around for the future(another 35 years eh!). Your a lucky man(just watch out for nanners, pure sativas like to hermie)

Yea the AC will be just enough to allow me to run an extra light or two and hopefully won't need to run too much. The basement does alot of cooling as is, the AC is more for the security that if theres a heat wave things don't get cooked.

EDIT!!
Hah! I just realized if I run two seperate tents on 12/12, I can do double the lighting without getting it too hot down there! :bigjoint:

It is alot of heat, right now my 2k heats up that room pretty good and its 30square feet with concrete floor. plus it winter here(its about -5 celcius outside)

I'm thinking I might actually go with 4 600's instead of 4 1000's and do vertical grows instead

Vertically can increase your yield substantially and it really does makes sense. I'd like to attempt something I have never ever seen in any of my internet browsing and that is to veg a plant for 3 months, with 4 tops. And then wrap that plant around a 600watt vertically hung bulb using a scrog technique. With something like that I could yield 4 pounds and only have to worry about 4 plants. If I alternate the light schedules so they alternate I can get away with no need for an AC all year round.
That's just what I'm thinking about, still a long ways away before I even harvest this grow, but I got some ideas anyways
