Anyone have a good diy hydro recipe?

I have been using fatsmans coco coir recipe for a few years and have been doing great. However i would like to try some other recipes for the hell of it and do some comparison grows.

Added= I am mentally challenged when it comes to breaking down %s of compounds so a simple recipe would be fantastic such as grams or ounces per gallon or ml per liter would be freaking awesome. I left an example below,


Ounces per half gallon

Part A.
1. Calcium Nitrate= 20.8
2. Potassium Nitrate= 1.2
3. Iron Chelate= 1.35

Part B.
1. Potassium Nitrate= 1.2
2. MonoPotassium Phosphate= 5.6
3. Magnesium sulfate= 4.3
4. Manganese sulfate= .269
5. Boric Acid= .368
6. Zinc Sulfate= .291
7. Copper sulfate= .059
8. Ammonium Molybdate= .002

Mix #21 for hard water.

Don't put the nitric acid in the A solution, but use it to pH your reservoir as much as needed.

Edit: uh... oh zinc metal... yeah you should probably use something else... but drill a hole in a post 83 penny

Thanks church haze but I use simple ingredients such as the ones almost all commercial brands use. For zinc i use zinc sulfate, never heard of using Nitric acid. I think there is one brand that uses nitric acid but not sure. I have and made the recipes of dutchpro, florabloom, and general hydroponics. Just need to play with something different.


Instead of using penny parts try this, or you can buy pure zinc sulfate

Yeah, I forgot I made it with Zinc metal because I didn't have any zinc sulfate. I just dissolved the zinc into sulfuric acid before adding it. You're better off formulating it from zinc sulfate to begin with, it's just that you need so little....

What type of Iron chelate do you use?

Hate to bother you again church but just now understanding these ratios in hydrobuddy and you were right about the potassium being too high in fatmans formula. Do you have a good veg ratio and bloom ratio for hydroponics? Or do you use that one for everything? What do you think about general hydroponics ratio? or the hoagland solution?

I use the same mix (and concentration) from seed/clone to harvest. I'm not sure exactly what I'd change to make a bloom mix. I tried Hoagland for a while and think it's a good mix, but I added some P as a buffer so it doesn't go below 30ppm as the plant eats. Hoagland formula is very close to my own formula considering that was my starting point. Keep in mind mix #21 is for hard tap water. I wouldn't use it with RO or low ppm tap or you will likely end up with calcium deficiency.
