my caregiving isn't a hobby, fuck it's a full time job+......there are no dispensaries in Lewiston or rockland......if caregivers are charging 350-4 bills a zip their patients are getting a royal fucking......

I think the price of meds is between you (CG) and patient. I have people that can afford x amount but need more to be able to get through the day.. Their well being is more important than money. The state set up these guidelines for a reason, you are caring for people. You build a relationship. Another thing dispensaries will not offer you
Excuse me here 420, but I need to stand up on the soapbox for only a minute here .... It is not the amount of money for a zip, an eighth, or whatever amount one is getting from a CareGiver. It is all irrelevant as far as I am concerned. What is more important to me, as well as others I am sure, it is the friendship that is made. A lasting one that is "Priceless." Just this past Sunday, I suffered my 3rd heart attack in as many years, and lo and behold on Wednesday morning, who pops in to see me for a few minutes from his busy day, was my friend Budwich :-) There is no way in hell if I was doing biz with a dispensary, would I have ever received that visit. I guess here in Maine, we just do things a bit different, because we care about each other. I .... for one .... would not want it any other way. And just so you know, Bud has his "Meds of My Choice" dialed in just perfectly. I am quite sure his Meds could easily top what you refer to as "Top Dollar", but I know in my heart and soul that He would never do that to a patient in need. So in other words .... A Maine CareGiver is "Priceless" in more ways than one.

Thanks Bud :-) Love You Bro !! :-) As well as all of the other regulars on here :-)

Hope you are feeling better... yes we do things differently here in maine.. maybe that is why people prefer to come to us qualified, compassionate, and in my case also terminally Ill caregivers. When I first got my card, I needed some meds bad... I mean a real desperate medical situation... The local dispensaries in thomaston, portland, and L.A. all told me there would be a 3 month waiting period... well I am on my second harvest and am taking care of 2 terminally ill cancer patients. I find it insulting to MM that the dispensaries are charging from 375-425 per ounce for medicine that in my opinion is sub-par quality.

And as far as there not being good outdoor buds in maine...well you must be dealing with the wrong friends my friend.. because for almost 20 years now I have seen some of the dankest homegrown in the closed growing circles of maine.

MaineYankee.. all my best to you

Just one last thing... talking about prices..... I consider my medicine to be top quality (so do others) I brought my seeds personally from Amsterdam to the states, grow using organic methods, and care for each of my plants as if they are my children. What I have seen from the dispensaries literally made me laugh out loud in front of the dispensary worker.

It costs me time and money to grow, but in good conscience I cannot charge more than 250 a Zip.That is even a touch high for helping a sick person.. which is what a caregiver is supposed to do, care for, and help those who are in need. I never understood legalizing marijuana for medical use but continuing to sell it for the top black market prices.... I have and will continue my pro bono work, in fact I just made 2 lbs of canna butter for a dying patient in boston..... I guess it makes you think of it differently when you yourself have limited time left on this earth, and are dealing with others in a similar situation.. .I wouldnt want to have to fork over 400 bucks in my most desperate time of need.... and I am not talking about a recreational high.

Heart attack! That's scary shit man! I'm sorry to hear about your recent misfortunes. The worst thing is laying in a hospital bed sick or injured and there is nothing like a friend stopping by to put a smile on your face. Feel better Bob......

good to see you home brother...fuckin survivor you are. I know a quick visit from a buddy can make all the difference when you are in the hospital man. I know you would do the same.

I think alot of people are/have been moving to maine to become caregivers just like out west. Our laws are unique, build for a small personal state. They will soon learn this and have to adjust accordingly.

The buy local trend in maine is really catching on, and I know that MM is different, but I believe it is just as important to grow and develop with our local caregivers/growers rather than see an influx of profit hungry rippers from other states.... I really take pride in not only growing a superior medicine, but I also support my local businesses in the process... Maine growers know to support local hydro/grow/ and greenhouse shops. Little things like this make the flavor of maine sweeter in my opinion. Budwich is a perfect model for how EVERY caregiver in maine should operate.... We should never lose our compassion as caregivers... and fellow human beings...

rant over

Thanks everyone :-) I am doing a helluva lot better as each day passes. My "gifted girls" from Budwich survived well during my absence thanks to my son-in-law, and are almost ready to be chopped in a couple of weeks :-) Yes Shark .... Budwich is a "very special, and kind person", just like a lot of the others that are on this Maine Sub-Forum. They have helped me in so many ways, from being a newbie, to now where I am ...well let's just say a "newbie with experience" :-)

Mainers have always banded together ... helping neighbors in time of need, and then some. That is what makes us unique I guess. I just dislike it so very much when someone thinks they can state whatever comes out of their mouth, without knowing what the true meaning of being a "CareGiver" really means .... and it goes beyond growing meds .... Just saying thank you to a veteran, or picking up his/her tab for a meal, or just saying hello .... brings warmth and comfort to their soul.

Yes Bud, I agree also that their are flatlanders moving here to Maine to join in the party .... But rest assured, they will have to adhere to what has been instilled in us from our "Way of Life" .... or go back to where they came from :-)

Peace, Love, and Happiness :-)

The flatlander comment made what to share this. When I married my wife, a lot of moons ago now, we moved to Caribou for 5 years, we call this our honeymoon, I called it her training as she was from NY, just outside the city. We got married on a Saturday, and on Sunday we stopped at Bean's to buy her a winter coat and off to Northern Maine we went. We now consider her a Mainer.

Peace

I don't know any medical grower who charges over 250 a zip. Also us caregivers tend to grow what our patients want. Medical quality marijuana is such an overused, and unacurate phrase. To a patient it isn't about the thc it's about alieviating there ailments. Something that works to alieviate pain might not work for someone's crohns.
Now people who grow just to reap a big profit are a different breed. They usually grow the most thc laden plants they can cause there people just want to get high. My hubby is a med patient and I grow him a good sativa for the morning (for crohn's) and a nice indiga at night (pain from herniated disks). Oh and 1 of my patients get there meds free because he's termanally ill and on a tight budget. I don't know about anyone else but the thought of making a killing off a dieing man makes me ill.
Go Maine where we take care of one another.

Sorry Dubba .... I will take the heat for going "off course" with the topic that you started. I just was peed off when 420newbieg ranted about Maine CareGivers should be charging $350 to $400 an ounce to their patients.

I think it's also funny that 420 has not posted a "re butt al" since the last post on the 23rd :-)

On with the pics of the at tight nugs !! :-)
