Anyone have experience with these lights?

I use a 8" inch fan to pull the hot air out, I had started with a 4" intake but wasn't enough so I added another 4" intake and now I have stablilized the temps but I suspect once the outside sidetemps get close to 0 or even -1ish I'll have to turn a/c on and heat during lights off once I flip them. I am hoping these lights produce like all the research I've done state.

I just have 1 1000W MH magnetic ballast and will be using it on a light mover to cover an 8x4 area for flowering. I imagine it gives off the same heat as one of yours. My growing is done in a cold basement so the heat is needed. Just have a couple of 400s going now.

You use one 1k in that big of an area?

Room temp like yours I'd guess. The basement where my grow room is underground and unheated so never gets warmer than 60F or so in the summer. No A/C required.

It'll be on a 6' light mover to cover an 8x4 area. I was going to put a tent that size down there but that's too restrictive to work in and would expose the inside to near freezing temps when the flaps get opened. I may use the tent elsewhere. Now I'm going to build an addition in there to join with the existing grow room. This area and the grow room will just be used for flowering as I have taken over the spare 10x10 bedroom upstairs to use as veg area. I figure it should work fine as a buddy had the same setup and could fill a tent with plants and got great flowering.

ive never used a light mover but always wanted too.. just really the penever seen too much of a benefit that more light couldnt handle. my basement doesnt hit less than about 68 or so.. thats what i keep my stat at.. and my basements fully finished. when its warm i directly pump my ac to my room through the ducts.. now while the heats kicking though i got it cut off and got a portable ac in there lol. the perks of owning your house lol.. its a mixed up situation but gotta keep the girls happy

I got the opposite problem as I need extra heat if the lights are off. :) All the air that goes into the room is from the outer basement it's in so I always have cool air being drawn in when the exhaust fan kicks in. I just went down and checked temps with my little lazer heat gun and it's 45F.

So have a 3 x 6 cabinet air cooled 600 eye hort super would spending the 175 for a mover be worth it maybe upgrade to a 1000 or just run 2 600 would like to be as efficient as possible

I have a finished basement but shut the vents off to he grow area. Using led I actually had to open one of the vents to let heat in.

DEs don't throw off all that much heat. My peak temp is 72F in my basement room (with one Gavita 1kw). I draw air from the house, which I keep at 68F. House is a split built in the mid 90s. Temps outside have been -10s.

The 600 on a mover would do that space perfect! 9w/hr to move the light compared to another 600w/hr on your electric bill. Hmmmm . . .

Guess what. Your 1Kw DE puts out the same heat as my 1Kw Hortilux unless you have the ballast outside the grow room like I have mine.

But would the loss of those extra 600 watts vs a mover affect yield..... Then to what degree I know there are 100 factors that determine this but is a 6 on a mover just as effective as 2 6's or would a switch to led be the most beneficial

A 600 on a mover is damn near as good as two stationary ones and the power savings are immense. I would prefer two 600s on my setup as I'd get 50% more lumens for 20% more power cost but as I have 1000ws already I'll use that. Looking at 5-$750 to buy a pair of 600s so why bother.

I'm old so investing in expensive LEDs makes no sense to me. With my cold basement I'd need to heat the plants and electric heat doesn't grow plants where light does. Every other lighting is compared to good HID because it's still the best bang for the buck. If I'm going to be using 1000w then I want the best light so I prefer Hortilux bulbs. I've never had one die on me and still use a 16yo conversion bulb on an HPS ballast for MH light, Talk about getting your money's worth!

I'm out in the middle of the desert so usually have the opposite problem and if allowed plan to grow for many more seasons was looking at diy stuff pretty handy see what happens
