Interesting, that they now are starting to manage making different pain medications based on cannabis. This one called Sativex, are made especially to MS patients. Just though it was worth posting:)

Fed gov are fibbers. They say that marijuana has no medical use - yet at the same time they gave GW Pharmaceuticals FDA approval in the USA to launch a Phase III trial of Sativex (cannabis pharm drug) on January 3, 2006.

Sativex Entered Phase III Clinical Programme In Cancer Pain on November 23 2010 and a US Patent was granted for Sativex in cancer pain on April 20, 2011 (4-20 - maybe they thought we wouldn't notice) Upon approval in the United States, Sativex will be marketed by Otsuka.

June 30, 2011: Second phase III Sativex cancer pain trial commenced. "GW Pharmaceuticals plc (AIM: GWP) today announced the initiation of a second Phase III Sativex® clinical trial in the treatment of pain in patients with advanced cancer, who experience inadequate analgesia during optimized chronic opioid therapy.

This indication represents the initial target indication for Sativex® in the United States.

" PEOPLE - WE ARE BEING RAILROADED BY FED GOV IN THEIR ATTEMPT TO FACILITATE THE ROLL-OUT OF SATIVEX

Along with the other 55 Big pharma growing with the FED Govs permission in order to synthisize THC and try to control the market for related pain treatments

From what I have read, in real world use, the pharmaceutical derivatives don't work near as well as straight from nature cannabis.

The pharm derivitives do not work as well as the real thing, at least for me. I have cronic cluster headaches and suffer about 6 to 8 hours daily. I have been on Marinol and Dranabinol, both synthesized legal pharm drugs. They do help the cronic pain some, but take about an hour to reach full strength. This leaves me in pain for over an hour with each attack. better than any other drug tried so far, except the real bud. almost instant relief is hard to beat, and shouldn't be denied legitimate patients.

I also have Marinol for nausea caused by chemo (arsenic). It took a long time of telling my cancer doctor that the normal nausea meds did not work. Marinol does work. If you take 2 two close together then you can feel giggly and you can feel it in your eyes. It does make you tired though. No munchies or anything but does help you eat.

Money talks and bullshit walks. As in timber and cotton producers way back when lobbying the government to ban hemp because it might hurt their profits. Pure and simple greed. As in a bunch of G-men ready to be out of work when alcohol prohibition ended who switched to fighting cannabis. Once again, greed, pure and simple greed. And now we have the pharmaceuticals fighting it because how the heck are they supposed to make money on something that has a nickname "weed"? They hate the fact that it requires no processing, is basically non-addictive, and is basically very easy to grow. Greed the root cause of most of the worlds current problems.

you kno i hate to be the hippy that says this but i think they all need some THC to help em see straight, we can literary stop cutting down trees for paper, stop using them for rope and stop cotton picking among a bunch of other shit, not to mention the extreamly nutritious essential oil that the seeds produce which btw can be turned into fuel. i think about it and just wanna go crazy, we are in a fuel crysis, were hurting mother earth and we cannot legalize the one thing that might take like 30% of all our problems away. its almost sad :(

I hear you. But you are kind of preaching to the choir.

The problem is the world is being ruled by a few rich oligarchs and their corporations. And these rich people have the empathy of a serial killer or maybe a shark. They don't give a shit about people. They don't give a shit about the environment. All they care about is making more money and getting more power. The worst offenders in the US are the Koch brothers, who basically made their fortune on coal, which is an incredibly dirty energy source. Unfortunately for the US, and the rest of the world also, our political process has been completely corrupted by big money. Many of the politicians really don't care what the people want, or what is best for the world. All they care about is pleasing their masters who continue to give them huge campaign contributions. Talk about dirty money.

When then entire Iraq war thing was happening, which was totally based on a complete pack of lies, I always told people they should give everyone in Iraq a bag of pot and some brownie mix. This alone might have stopped the insurgency from getting worse and worse. Which is another reason the military industrial complex hates cannabis - it makes people too empathetic to other people's problems. In some ways it makes people passivists. They hate this. They want us all hating each other so we spend a million dollars on one-time-use cruise missiles. Like I said, greed.
