Anyone here use blumats?

I was reading up on perfecting my water technique when I found these. I was always skeptical of auto drip systems, but I read that they are great for the living soil in organics. Does anyone here use them? There are a lot of things about them I dont quite understand.

Im hoping folks chime in as iv wondered same thing...

Tropf Blumats are awesome.

I have done a test patch with marginal results , though I was running it at a low pressure , maybe 3 feet of head pressure. I would like to try it again when I have the time at a much higher pressure

I love them. I am running 15 Blumats in 2 tents. Using 2 and 3 gallon grow bags. I use their filter too. It keeps clogs from happening.

The issue I've always had with most auto-drip systems is I've never been able to understand how people get them dialed in. Different plants have different watering needs, so I've always kind of thought they were more trouble than they're worth. Not so with the blumats though, whether you have a tiny 1g pot or a 300 gallon tree, a blumat is the only thing that will allow you to water perfectly no matter the size of your pot assuming it's been hooked up properly.

The only issue I've seen people have with the blumats is dialing them in, apparently it's a pain in the ass to get them calibrated and all that good stuff. Takes quite a bit of troubleshooting, especially if you're in a medium-large sized setup. If you're willing to deal with all of that and have the money, blumats are totally the way to go. I'll be grabbing some blumats for my next outdoor when I'm in raised beds.

Check youtube for more info, that's pretty much the only place I can consistently find anything about them. There was a guy doing indoor raised beds with blumats and his setup looks pretty incredible.

They work great. Just have to be careful when first getting dialed in. Had to much water at first and gnats took a vaca in my rooms. Added a nice mulch and lowered the dropped. Zero gnats now. Perfect soil moisture. Plants 4x their size during stretch and stilling filling in. Love love my blumats

I hear good things about them. How many heads would you recommend for each 5 gallon fabric pot? Would you recommend the tropf or the maxi? I'm trying to go organic but how do you feed with this system if you needed to use liquid nutrients or compost tea? what is a good amount of moisture to dial into. do I want my pot super heavy, fairly heavy, etc? can I insert the carrots into established pots or should I wait for next season? Sorry for the barrage of questions It just looks like a great system but theres a lot im missing.

I think you should be fine with two of the tropf carrots for each five g pot. If I were to add a tea it would be hand watered in. Not through the blumat system. You would want to look into a water only soil recipe. That way no need to feed anything but what’s built into the soil. And I’m living organic soil the best moisture level is easy to dial in. Never having runoff but consistently moist soil is the key.

ok. would it be harmful to stick a few of those distributors into my soil? my plants are probably 3 feet tall and quite bushy about now. vegging longer than I'd for about 6 weeks now after some weird funk. Also, is one of their 5 gallon reservoirs going to be enough to water my (4) five gallon pots for a decent amount of time? I read that plants in full flower will consume multiple gallons per day??

They work great when dialed in. With my soil I had to pack moist peet around the sensors to get more accurate watering.
