Anyone NOT voting this election?

I would, but I'm not a citizen. For those who are choosing not to vote, what are your reasons? Before you answer, consider this quote by David F. Wallace:

“If you are bored and disgusted by politics and don't bother to vote, you are in effect voting for the entrenched Establishments of the two major parties, who please rest assured are not dumb, and who are keenly aware that it is in their interests to keep you disgusted and bored and cynical and to give you every possible reason to stay at home doing one-hitters and watching MTV on primary day. By all means stay home if you want, but don't bullshit yourself that you're not voting. In reality, there is no such thing as not voting: you either vote by voting, or you vote by staying home and tacitly doubling the value of some Diehard's vote.”

My first question when somebody starts bitching about an elected official is "Did you vote?". I don't ask who they voted for or why or anything else. If they didn't vote? Then STFU.

You know how much money the Illuminati spent on Obama? No way in hell they won't get a full 8 years out of him.

I will not be voting this election.

I don't support either candidate who will likely win, can't give my vote to a person I don't trust, or believe, and believe my vote is meaningless as the electoral process is a sham designed to make us think we have some sort of a choice when we don't.

You have to pick one , whats it gonna be ?

i'm one of those that many of you look down upon. i've never voted in any election and i never will. politicians, like the media, cater to the lowest common denominator and the bar has simply been set so low that it isn't worth playing the game. it's fun to watch the monkeys strut around and try to act like human beings, but in the end it's all just a pissing contest and no one ever really wins those. i watch as the idiots on the left try to make themselves feel superior by claiming some imaginary moral high ground of their own design. i watch as the fools on the right declare that perfection is attainable if we only follow the grand design. i watch as both sides try to bring each other down with slurs, half-truths and innuendo. my low opinion of humanity, particularly the political animals among us, is reinforced on a nearly daily basis and i see no reason to join them in their folly. this political game y'all are constantly playing is about personalities and not the philosophies involved, it is a peculiar contest where the slaves are allowed to decide who will fasten their shackles.

for decades i have refused to cast a ballot, but that doesn't mean i don't vote. i vote every single day. i vote with each word and deed. i maintain a stance on the fringes of society at large, because that is the only place freedom still resides. i work both smart and hard for the comforts i can manage, i don't envy those more fortunate and i don't pity those with less. i try to be generous when i can and to treat even fools with a modicum of kindness, though the latter becomes difficult when their asinine antics reach critical mass (see chesus rice, uncle buck and a few others). i take my freedoms seriously, making sure that they do not infringe on the freedoms of others, and recognize that they originated with me, not in some political body or at the whims of the restless mob. politics, as anything more than an intellectual exercise, is a game for fools.

yeah it's all fun and games now
But will you refrain from bitching about our goverment since you have already said you dont want to have a voice in it by not voting?
Now would be a great time for you to refrain ever posting in the politics section since you have admitted you have no part in our societies electoral process.

Although that is not entirely true
because the reality is you gave your vote to someone else by not voting

^ If you were a change machine you would have a sign hanging on you that says our of order/Needs repair because you make no Cents at all.
If you elect politicians that create problems then you don't have a right to complain since its YOU that are the problem to begin with nominating/electing shitty candidates and all the rest of us have a right to complain about being held hostage by dumb fucks like you , but this goes without saying.

reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it. i try to make changes in the world around me through my actions and my words, not merely by handing over what little power i have to the guy who promises me the most free stuff. unlike the political animals, i don't attempt to force my opinions on others. unlike the unruly mob and the feeble minded pseudo-intellectuals, i don't try to remake the lives of those around me through theft and deception. i don't need to take from others, being content to earn what i desire. i don't even want what others have. i'd rather create those things for myself. i'd rather create my life than try to imitate the lives of others.

most importantly, i don't feel the need to silence others. no matter how asinine their braying may seem, i'd rather allow them their foolishness than strip them of their right to express themselves.
