I need to deal with the smell. However, my temps are pushing 85 as is. anyone running computer fans into carbon filters? If so, how did it effect your temps? are you happy with the results?
Got to keep it stealth till Obama gets around to all the other things higher on the priority list than out beloved hobby.

I use a carbon filter on a typical fan and it works very well as far as the smell goes, I have a fairly wide open space so my temps have never been a problem, can't help you there.

hmmm... I'm working in a pretty small place so heat is becoming an issue. glad to know the filter is working with a computer fan. are you just using activated carbon?
going to have make a trip to the hardware store and brainstorm...

I'm using a compuer fan with charcoal filter to keep my box cool and it works great for 3 seasons but now the cold season is here and it's making the grow box too cold. I'm using the heat generated from my cfls to keep the temps up. I'm vegging now and keeping the cfl's on 24/7 to maintain temps in the 75/80 F range. I throttle the temps by adjusting how much the door to the box is opened and having a fan blow downward over the lights towards the pots. I need a heating solution once when I start the flower phase that will work with my fan on for odor control. So I have a problem opposite yours.

If outside temps are cooler you could contrive something where you pull in outside air to help keep the temps down. Screening is in order to keep bugs from getting in. Also you risk bringing in air thats too cold for your plants if you're into the cold season like I am.
